Friday 5th Static Boat Display Rotorua Lakefront Village Green, viewing from 4-8pm

A pre-selected range of boats have been invited to be displayed. Contact Peter Mitchell (peter@mitchell.co.nz) if you would like yours to be included.

Saturday 6th Channel Drift, plus Lake Cruises for boat class categories Launches, Fast Classics, Wooden Speedboats etc

Saturday 6th Captain's Briefing, Gift Collection & 30th Parade Formal Dinner with guest speaker and Auction. To be held at the Distinction Hotel, 390 Fenton Street, Glenholme, Rotorua 3010

Sunday 7th Parade, Picnic & Games. Followed by a Casual Dinner at the Ramada Resort (1420 Hamurana Road, Mourea, Rotorua 3074) with a Live Band and dancing until 11pm.

Monday 8th Inside-Out Event - Buoy Hunt for the Faster boats & Launches. A Flotilla for the Sailing Boats. All meeting once again at Wairau Bay for a picnic at 1pm.

Entry to this parade is limited to Wooden or Classic Design only.

For Health and Safety reasons this parade is only open to members. If you are not a member then by entering this parade you will be deemed to have consented to becoming a member of this Association, please select the new-member price which includes your annual membership fee of $15.

I am willing to anchor off at the picnic beach. You are able to drop your passengers and picnic gear at the jetty and then anchor off and someone will collect you and bring you to shore. This is to help us fit the growing numbers of boats at our final destination.

Your committee will take all the care they are reasonably able to; to ensure a safe, successful and happy day but we must draw your attention to the following:

1. It is the responsibility of each individual skipper to comply with all safety instructions and requirements and all boating regulations and bylaws. You may be in a “parade” but all normal boating and safety rules still apply and skippers are responsible for their boat and for all people on their boat. (see link to boating bylaws on our website)

2. All participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety and must comply with all briefing instructions and boating regulations and bylaws. Life Jackets are now compulsory for everybody on a boat 6m or less

Saturday morning: If you are coming for the weekend you may wish to join us for the drift down the channel from Lake Rotorua through the winding channel to Lake Rotoiti. Bring Kayaks, Dinghies, Rubber rings or whatever takes your fancy and enjoy a lovely tranquil drift through the trees. Life Jackets compulsory. We are planning on starting this at 11am (meet from 10am onwards). It takes about an hour and a half, so if you are on a floatie that leaves most of you in the lake you will need a wetsuit and a proper life jacket - NOT an inflatable. It is great fun and just beautiful, kids and adults alike will enjoy it! Please mark yes if you are considering this, to give us an idea of numbers for transferring cars.

I'm interested in attending the channel drift

On Monday we will again run the Inside-Out Event where we hunt for Bouys and mark our sheets. Followed by a Picnic at Wairau Bay.

We will run 2 seperate courses catering for Leisurely Launches & Quick Craft fleets. The plan is to complete our courses and then gather at Wairau Bay at 1300 hours, for a BYO picnic lunch and social get together. If enough Sailing boats are interested a course will be set...
