Award Criteria and Eligibility
Each Nominee for the Mid-Career Researcher Award, given annually by the Eastern Nursing Research Society, must be an active member of ENRS who:
- Has an earned research doctorate (Ph.D., EdD, DNS, or DNSc).
- Has achieved the academic rank of Associate Professor or equivalent.
- Has an established independent research program with a sustained funding track record.
- Has a sustained publishing record emanating from the program of research.
- Has evidence of mentoring the next generation of nurse researchers.
- Is not currently an ENRS Board member or ENRS Awards Committee member.
Please submit the following supporting documentation of eligibility for the award:
- Statements from the nominator or applicant (two-page limit; single-spaced; 0.5 margins) and two references (one-page limit each) that make the case for the nominee's major contribution(s) and why these are important. Include information on the nominee's current research involvement and mentoring activities in the statements.
- Nominee's up-to-date curriculum vitae–make sure it clearly, accurately, and completely documents research contributions, current research activities, and mentoring record.
- Samples of three representative refereed research publications.
Notification
Email notifications will go out in late February 2026. Winners will be formally recognized on Friday, March 27, 2026, during the Awards Luncheon of the 38th Annual Scientific Sessions.
