Renovation Rodeo Host Agreement
  • Renovation Rodeo Host Agreement

    Throughout the year, Palladium features a property that has undergone—or is undergoing—an impressive renovation. From tiny 1940s bungalows to turn-of-the-century mansions, and everything in between, these programs give the public a chance to tour properties, learn about their renovation, and have a great time doing it. The following constitutes your Renovation Rodeo Host Agreement.

  • Host Agreement

  • WHEREAS, Historic Columbia (hereinafter "HC") is sponsoring Renovation Rodeo;

    WHEREAS, the Host desires and is willing to participate in Renovation Rodeo;

    NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the promises herein and other valuable consideration, it is agreed that:

    1. Services: The Host agrees to perform/provide the following services for HC at the program: Host will provide program guests access to the interior and exterior of their property for a 90-minute program on an agreed upon date.

    2. Event date and time: HC and the Host will find a mutually agreed upon date and time to hold the program. The Host acknowledges that HC prefers weekdays from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. and will try to schedule the program accordingly.

    3. Cancellation/Modification of Public Programs: Should the program be modified due to weather, insufficient registration, or any unforeseen circumstances, the Host agrees to hold HC harmless for all claims whatsoever arising from this provision.

         a. In the case of inclement weather, HC can decide whether to continue the program based on the interior spaces available to guests at your property. Efforts will be made to give as much advance notice as possible.

    4. Program Logistics: The standard number of tickets made available for a Renovation Rodeo is 40. Any modification to this number needs to be agreed upon in writing based on the size and layout of the property. The Host agrees to alert HC in writing of any materials willingly supplied and/or needed for a successful program, including but not limited to: food and beverage tables; trash cans; trash bags. HC agrees to release the address of the Host property no more than forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the program. The Host agrees that exterior images of the property may be published after the program on historiccolumbia.org and HC social media accounts; HC will make effort to remove the property number and street name from any published images.

    5. Accessibility: The Host agrees to make their property available to HC staff and/or Palladium board members at a mutually agreed upon time at least two (2) weeks prior to the program to review logistics and setup, and get any images needed for final promotions. During the program, the Host may close off certain private spaces at their discretion by simply closing the door. The Host agrees to make the property accessible from one-hour before to one-hour after the program.

    6. Setup: Program setup will begin no earlier than one hour before the program without prior consent. HC staff and Palladium board members will setup and breakdown all program materials, including but not limited to: blade banners staked in the ground by the road; parking signs staked in the ground by the road; registration table; food and beverage tables; display panels/easels. Generally, HC will need a minimum of two (2) large tables for the program (inside or outside, weather permitting), for food and beverages.

    7. Event: Guests are invited to socialize and tour the property for the first thirty (30) minutes of the program. After thirty (30) minutes, the run of show will be as follows: Palladium board president speaks; presenting sponsor speaks; presentation of neighborhood research; presentation of home research; homeowner/contractor/architect/etc. speak; Palladium board president ends presentation. Guests are invited to continue to socialize and tour the property for the final thirty (30) minutes of the program. An end of program announcement will be made for any remaining guests five (5) minutes prior to the end of the program.

    8. Breakdown: Cleanup will take place immediately following the program and typically takes no more than thirty (30) minutes. Please let HC staff know if trash needs to be removed from the property or if supplied recepticles may be used.

    9. Parking: HC will create a pre-program email for guests with parking instructions. The Host will alert HC staff in writing of any parking restrictions at least two (2) weeks prior to the program.

    10. Yard Sign: HC will leave a yard sign behind after the program to remain staked in the front yard for a period of no more than three (3) weeks following the program (Sign reads "My house was featured on Renovation Rodeo" with a QR code for more information.). A member of HC staff or the Palladium board will come by the property without notice to retrieve the sign. The Host agrees to leave the sign in place and not throw the sign away. If the Host removes the sign from their property, the Host agrees to promptly deliver the sign to Seibels House, 1601 Richland Street, during business hours.

    11. Amendment: No modification, amendment, addition or termination of this Agreement nor waiver of any of its provisions shall be valid or enforceable unless in writing and agreed to by all Parties hereto.
