  • The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Black Alumni Network (HSPVA BAN) is proud to support our talented alumni through this Alumni Micro-Grant aimed at fostering creative endeavors in the arts. This grant is intended to assist alumni in producing or participating in public showcases of their work. Grant winners will be notified by December 23, 2025. 

     

    ELIGIBILE APPLICANTS

    To be considered for this grant, applicants must: 

    • Be Black alumni of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA).
    • Be actively involved in the planning, production, or performance of a public showcase in the fields of music, theatre, dance, visual arts, creative writing, film, or interdisciplinary arts.
    • Have a confirmed or expected showcase date between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. 

    ELIGIBILE PROJECTS

    Projects must: 

    • Be a public showcase or exhibition in the fields of music, theatre, dance, visual arts, creative writing, film, or interdisciplinary arts.
    • Occur within the designated date range: January 1, 2026, - December 31, 2026.
    • Demonstrate artistic merit and a clear benefit to the applicant’s creative development or professional career.

     

    GRANT AMOUNTS

    Applicants may request up to $2,500.00 USD. Awarded grant amounts will vary based on available funding and the scope of the proposed project. 

     

    APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

    In order to be considered, applicants must submit all of the following: 

    • Completed Application Form via JotForm
    • Project Proposal (max. 1,000 words)
    • Itemized budget
    • Resume or Artist CV
    • Proof of Venue or Showcase Agreement (or a Letter of Intent if not yet finalized)
    • Work Samples (video or PDF) 

     

    RECIPIENT OBLIGATIONS

    Grant recipients are required to: 

    • Provide 1 complimentary ticket to the event.
    • Acknowledge HSPVA BAN in event programs, promotional materials, social media posts, and/or signage at the event.
    • Submit a post-event report within 60 calendar days of the showcase, including:
      • Brief summary of outcomes
      • Reflection on impact of the grant
      • Photos or media from the event (if available)

     

  • If selected, you will be asked for documentation to support the data you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the contact information submitted below. Please review your answers for errors.

  • Selected recipients of this grant are required to:

    • Acknowledge HSPVA BAN in event programs, promotional materials, social media posts, and/or signage at the event.
    • Submit a post-event report within 60 calendar days of the showcase/event, including a brief summary of outcomes, a reflection on the grant's impact, and photos/media from the event (if available)
