We are looking for readers who:
- Are age 16+
- Live in Hamilton, Ontario
- Can all attend six (6) Zoom meetings after 5pm on weeknights
  - December 17, 2025
  - February 11, 2026

- Can read fifteen (15) English children’s e-books in a month (mix of picture books, early reader, middle grade, and young adult)
- Are comfortable pitching fifteen (15) books to a group of their peers
- Are passionate about representing the diverse community of young readers in Hamilton
- Are passionate about representing the diverse community of young readers in Hamilton. People working with disabilities (visible and/or invisible, physical and/or mental), those who are People of the Global Majority (Black, Indigenous, and people of colour), LGBTQQIP2SAA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pansexual, Two-Spirit, Androgynous, Asexual), and members of other groups experiencing barriers to equal access, opportunities, and resources will be given priority

Time Requirements

In order to curate the best Reading List, we do require committee members attend the housekeeping zoom meeting. We also require committee members to read their assigned books and report on them in the five (5) mandatory zoom meetings.
I can attend six (6) zoom meetings after 5 pm on weekdays, approximately 2.5 hours long. Dates of the meetings are December 17, 2025 (housekeeping), February 11, 2026, February 18, 2026, February 25, 2026, March 4, 2026, and March 11, 2026.*
