AMPLIFY SEASONS is a quarterly event which replaces Amplify Festival. We are now providing year-round opportunities for Amplify artists and Midlands audiences to come together and delight and invest in local talent.

These are nights where we will exclusively programme Amplify Artists’ work – usually two ticketed events - a double or triple bill of work-in-progress, followed by a longer standalone piece.

We will host four of these events annually; moving away from the festival model, allowing for greater investment in and flexibility for artists.

The next SEASONS event will take place on Thursday 22nd & Friday 23rd January. Please complete the application only if you are available on these dates.

To be eligible to take part in Amplify: SEASONS at least one member of the company must be, or be eligible to be an Amplify member. You can apply to be a member after submitting this application.

SEASONS in January 2026 will be programmed by Nottingham Playhouse's Associate Artist Benjamin Wilson, and Associate Literary Artist Laura Turner with input from a panel made up of Amplify artists and people who engage with Nottingham Playhouse through our programme of participatory activity.

Each SEASONS night will comprise: 

1. An early evening double or triple bill of work in progress performances.  These performances will be between 15 and 45 minutes in length, for a single ticketed event for audience members, without any interval. 

2. A later in the evening 'headline' type act - a 50 - 75 minute more fully formed piece.  This could theoretically be a work in progress, but we'd expect this to have had a significant amount of development already to be ready for an audience.  Or it could be a fully formed show that has already been performed elsewhere. 

It is very useful to the panel to have an idea of where in terms of development your work is at, and whether there have been any previous performances - either of the piece as you intend to perform it at SEASONS or earlier in the making process. 

Amplify SEASONS will run as follows for tech: 

THURSDAY: 

Work in progress (double or triple billed) shows will have an allocated tech time.  This time can be used to 'play' with tech, and explore anything that might be useful for your show.  It will be between 2 and 3.5 hours, dependent on the length of your work in progress piece, and how many artists have been programmed. 

We would advise that you keep the tech and set for the performance relatively simple, due to the changeover time available on your performance date. 

Artists from all companies will be expected to be in the building concurrently towards the end of the day to rehearse changeovers.  

FRIDAY:

Technicians will be with us in the space from 1pm. 

The work in progress double or triple bill will NOT receive an on-the-day tech slot. 

The longer show will receive a full tech, but will need to clear the space ready for the double / triple bill, before re-setting for their show which will be later in the evening.
