APPLICATION GUIDLINES AND REQUIREMENTS
IMPORTANT DATES
Call Dates: November 3, 2025 - January 9, 2026
Submission deadline: January 9, 2026 by 11:59pm ET
Notification of accepted artwork: February 13, 2026
Delivery and arrival of accepted artwork: February 23 - March 27, 2026
Exhibition: April 24 - May 27, 2026
Opening Reception: April 24, 2026 6-8pm
Return Shipping and pickup of accepted artwork: June 1 - June 26, 2026
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Each artist should submit their work under their own name with each work's individual artwork information. Please DO NOT submit works under the name of an organization or school. Each artist between the ages of 14-19 are eligible to submit up to 3 works. Each upload must be no more than 10 MB. Accepted file formats: pdf, mpg, jpg, jpeg, png, gif.
Artists will be notified by email about the selection status of their entries on or around February 13, 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
The Art Effect is only accepting art from artists between the ages of 14-19 years old within the United States. Artwork must be exhibition ready with appropriate frames and hardware as applicable. Art must be READY TO HANG upon arrival with either D-Rings, wire attached, functional mounting or display mechanisms, and/or include legible and detailed installation instructions. Art that is not hangable and/or exhibition ready will not be displayed in the exhibition. The art must be family-friendly and appropriate for viewing by all ages. Artwork selected for the exhibition will be shown in The Art Effect’s Gallery in Poughkeepsie, NY. Artists are responsible for transportation/delivery to and from The Art Effect. Artists must provide pre-paid, return shipping labels and appropriate packing materials.
SALE OF WORKS
Exhibiting artists may specify a retail price for work that is available for purchase or “NFS” (Not for Sale). To better support youth artists, The Art Effect waives its commission fee for teen art exhibitions.
