  • The Thomas J. King, Jr. Award of Excellence was established in 1996 to honor individuals who have made a significant impact on Alpha Sigma Tau but are neither members of Alpha Sigma Tau nor serving as Faculty Advisors. The award was established to recognize individuals who have given freely and generously of their time and skill for the benefit of the Sorority. The first award was given at the 1996 National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Nominators may choose to submit a video application OR a written application for this award. Do not submit both - choose one.

    Please note the following requirements for each type of application:

    Video

    • Video must be no longer than 4 minutes in length; videos over 4 minutes will automatically be disqualified.
    • Please ensure any speaker introduces themselves with their name and their relationship to the nominee.
    • Please view the video before submission to ensure the sound quality will allow for adequate evaluation

    Written

    • Written applications may be no longer than three (3) typed, single-spaced pages in 12-point font.
    • Applications longer than three pages or in smaller font will automatically be disqualified.
    • Applications must be uploaded as a PDF document.

    Applications should address the following:

    • Provide a detailed explanation using specific examples to describe how the nominee has contributed to the growth and development of Alpha Sigma Tau.
    • Describe any additional contributions the nominee has made to the National Organization.
