  • McCrory Order of Interfraternity Excellence Award

  • The McCrory Order of Interfraternity Excellence Award is named in honor of Cynthia McCrory, Alpha Alpha alumna and Alpha Sigma Tau's first and only NPC Chairman, who served from 1983 to 1985.

    The award honors an individual who has contributed outstanding service to the betterment of the fraternity/sorority system. An ideal nominee for this award would meet one or more of the following recommended criteria:

    • Be from outside the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority
    • Be from any campus, regardless of whether Alpha Sigma Tau has an active collegiate chapter there
    • Be a female or male nationally-known educator, fraternity/sorority executive, or university/college administrator in student affairs
    • Exemplify the finest tradition of fraternal service
    • Make noteworthy contributions in relations between sororities and fraternities and the community in which she or he is a part
    • Show significant leadership among educators in relations between college administrators and fraternity and sorority life
    • Have sustained successful leadership in interfraternity affairs
    • Be a respected spokesperson for the important causes of fraternal ideals

    Please note the following requirements for each type of application:

    Video

    • Video must be no longer than 4 minutes in length; videos over 4 minutes will automatically be disqualified.
    • Please ensure any speaker introduces themselves with their name and their relationship to the nominee.
    • Please view the video before submission to ensure the sound quality will allow for adequate evaluation

    Written

    • Written applications may be no longer than three (3) typed, single-spaced pages in 12-point font.
    • Applications longer than three pages or in smaller font will automatically be disqualified.
    • Applications must be uploaded as a PDF document.

    Applications should address the following:

    • Provide a detailed explanation using specific examples to describe how the nominee has served the fraternity/sorority community. 
    • Please provide specific examples demonstrating how the nominee has distinguished themself through their service. 
    • Please provide any pertinent biographical information about the nominee.
