Parade Marshals are the heart of parade day operations! They help ensure the 29th Memphis Christmas Parade in Whitehaven runs safely, smoothly, and joyfully for all participants and spectators. As a Parade Marshal, you’ll guide parade entries, assist spectators, and represent the welcoming spirit of Whitehaven and the City of Memphis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist parade participants with lineup and staging.
- Maintain order and flow along the parade route.
- Provide directions and information to parade participants and spectators.
- Help enforce safety guidelines and communicate any issues to parade officials.
- Support with setup, crowd management, and cleanup as needed.
- Cheerfully represent The Academy for Youth Empowerment and the Memphis Christmas Parade in Whitehaven.
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old (18+ preferred for traffic/crowd roles).
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods outdoors.
- Comfortable interacting with the public and giving directions.
- Dependable, punctual, and positive attitude.
- Attend a brief orientation and training session before parade day.
- Willing to follow instructions from parade leadership and public safety teams.
