Welcome to the Phoenix Farm & Retreat Application to Connect
  • Welcome to the Phoenix Farm & Retreat Application to Connect

  • Thank you so much for your interest in connecting with the Phoenix Farm & Retreat.

There are several ways you can become part of what we’re building — from joining as a community member or work-trade participant who lives and contributes on the land, to bringing your skills in regenerative agriculture, animal care, culinary arts, creative media, guest experiences, or wellness offerings into the project in an entrepreneurial, income-earning way. We are looking for people who want to plug into a bigger vision while also having room to grow their own gifts, offerings, and earning potential in alignment with the farm.

In addition, we are open to collaborating with licensed wellness and medical professionals through separately structured business arrangements, as required under Ohio’s Corporate Practice of Medicine laws. We are also open to supporters who wish to contribute through financial donations or explore private, project-based investment opportunities.

This application helps us streamline inquiries, understand your vision and background, and direct your submission to the appropriate category so we can review and respond efficiently.

Please note that currently, opportunities at Phoenix Farm & Retreat are not traditional employee-employer roles. Most collaborations fall under work-trade, profit-sharing, partnerships, contracted services, or membership-based agreements, rather than hourly employment.

We will be prioritizing applicants who wish to live and work on the farm, especially those who already have their own housing — such as a van, RV, yurt, bus conversion, tiny home, or a nearby residence. Many opportunities also include the potential to earn income through farm operations, short-term rentals, events, guest experiences, culinary services, creative/media work, or other on-site offerings.

We also welcome individuals who work remotely and maintain a stable outside income. Remote workers often integrate well into the community — contributing to land stewardship, creative projects, animal care, or daily farm tasks in a flexible and balanced way while maintaining their professional careers.

Our goal is to form mutually beneficial relationships, rooted in collaboration, integrity, and shared growth. For example, a community member may serve as the housekeeper for the main farmhouse — overseeing cleaning, laundry, and general upkeep. Their agreed-upon hours could count toward their membership or site-use contribution, while also allowing them to earn income by handling turnovers for short-term rental guests (receiving the cleaning fee directly).

We are currently seeking individuals with experience or interest in the following areas:

    Housekeeper / Cleaner / Organizer

Daily upkeep of the farmhouse, organization, laundry, and income-earning cleaning opportunities for guest turnovers.

Marketing, Social Media, Digital Media & Content Creation

Photography, videography, storytelling, editing, social strategy, platform management, brand development, and documenting the evolution of the farm. Ideally this role is filled by someone who is on-site and can regularly capture and create content around life on the land, guest experiences, and farm projects.

Chef / Community Cook / Baker / Culinary Lead

Preparing community meals, supporting farm-to-table events and retreats, developing recipes, and potentially creating value-added products.

    • Chefs may earn income by offering guest meal experiences and supporting retreats or small events.

    • Bakers may earn income by selling fresh breads, pastries, and baked goods through the farm stand or special orders.

    Animal Caretaker / Livestock & Guest-Animal Handler

Caring for mini highland cattle and other farm animals, supporting guest-animal experiences, and helping develop long-term herd and breeding programs.

Regenerative Farmers / Gardeners / Land Stewards

With over 170 acres of farmland, pasture, and forest, we are open to co-creating projects involving vegetables, flowers, agroforestry, mushrooms, permaculture, pastured livestock, specialty crops, and more. These roles are especially well-suited for community members who live on or near the farm and want to develop long-term, regenerative systems with shared benefit and profit-sharing opportunities.

Wellness, Therapeutic, Clinical, or Medical Professionals

Nurse practitioners, MDs/DOs, mental-health clinicians, LMTs, herbalists, and holistic practitioners interested in offering services to guests. All medical or regulated services must be structured in alignment with Ohio’s Corporate Practice of Medicine, which may involve operating through your own professional entity and collaborating with the farm on experiences, events, or offerings.

We have also included options for short-term volunteers / work-trade / WWOOF-style stays, media and press inquiries, and a donations / investor interest category, as well as a general “Other” option for unique connection ideas or specialized collaborations not listed above.

Our intention is to welcome individuals who resonate with our mission, contribute meaningfully, and grow alongside the land, the animals, the community, and the vision of the Phoenix Farm & Retreat. Please read the following sections carefully and answer as fully as possible so we can best understand your strengths, goals, and the type of connection you’re seeking.

    • Income Opportunities: Build-to-Earn Airbnb Unit Projects

Phoenix Farm & Retreat may offer a unique opportunity for skilled builders to participate in build-to-earn Airbnb projects. In these arrangements:

You help build a standalone Airbnb unit
The structure becomes its own listing with a dedicated booking calendar
You may contribute labor, skills, and or materials
You earn a larger share of the Airbnb revenue until your contribution is repaid
After repayment, the revenue share adjusts to a long-term percentage
All projects require Phoenix Farm approval and a signed agreement
The land remains the Phoenix Farm property

      Important:

This opportunity ONLY applies to independent structures that can be listed as their own Airbnb unit.

Shared amenities (sauna, hot tub, plunge tub, bathhouse, etc.) are not eligible because revenue cannot be individually tracked.

    • Healthcare / Wellness Professional Partnership

    • Phoenix Farm Retreat is actively building a network of licensed professionals who can offer wellness, bodywork, therapeutic, and health-related services to our guests and visitors.

Because we host overnight stays, weddings, events, and Airbnb travelers, you will have a potential built-in customer base for your services. We plan to offer select wellness experiences directly through Airbnb (e.g., licensed massage, sound healing, yoga, herbal workshops, mindfulness sessions). Guests can book these experiences before or during their stay, and the practitioner will receive an agreed-upon profit share or service fee.

For medical, clinical, or regulated services (IV therapy, ketamine therapy, functional medicine, mental-health care, etc.), we must comply with Airbnb policies and Ohio’s Corporate Practice of Medicine (CPOM) requirements. This means all medical services must be provided through a separate licensed business entity. In these cases, we will collaborate through: a partnership or profit-sharing arrangement or other model that is legally compliant.

Our role is to provide the venue, environment, traffic, retreat setting, and guest accessibility; your role is to provide licensed, compliant services. If you’re a licensed practitioner interested in offering services to our guests (wellness or medical), please complete the questions below so we can explore partnership pathways.

    • Thank you for your interest in supporting or investing in Phoenix Farm & Retreat.

We are currently exploring funding options for a high-impact, one-of-a-kind expansion project that will elevate the farm, enhance guest experiences, and significantly increase long-term value for the entire retreat ecosystem.

While the full architectural concept will only be shared privately under NDA with qualified individuals, here is what we can share publicly:

      Project Overview (Public Summary)

      • This is a unique destination-based development integrating one of a kind architecture, nature, and elevated guest experiences.
      • The project is designed to become a flagship feature of the farm, drawing national attention, high nightly revenue, and strong long-term demand from travelers, wellness guests, and retreat groups.
      • Our intention is to fund the build, complete construction, stabilize operations, and then refinance the improved value — allowing investor capital to be paid back with an agreed-upon return.

      Who This Opportunity Is For?

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy supporting unique, meaningful, high-impact projects and who appreciate investments that go beyond traditional real estate.

It typically resonates with people who:

      • Value experiential hospitality and the strong earning potential of one-of-a-kind destination stays
      • Appreciate creative, design-driven projects that stand out and attract high nightly rates
      • Prefer clear, short to mid term ROI through a fixed return rather than long-term equity structures
      • Want to be part of building something rare, innovative, and unforgettable
      • Enjoy supporting regenerative, land-based, wellness-oriented, or community-focused initiatives
      • Like the idea of being personally connected to a project they can visit, experience, and be proud of

This is a great fit for anyone who wants to:

      • Diversify investments into something creative and experience-based
      • Support a visionary project without taking on ownership or operational responsibilities
      • Receive a defined return on their contribution once the completed project is refinanced
      • Be part of bringing a one-of-a-kind architectural feature to life

Depending on contribution level, early supporters may also receive:

      • Priority access or first-stay opportunities
      • Special preview nights
      • Progress updates via email
      • The option to visit the property during the build to see the project unfold firsthand
      • Other experiential perks, depending on contribution level
