ThyX Patient Survey Understanding Thyroid Treatment Experiences and Preferences

A 10-minute anonymous study on thyroid treatment experiences and preferences. Conducted by Aneta & Luke Nash, Co-Founders of ThyX.
  • About this Study

We are conducting an international study to better understand how people living with thyroid conditions manage their treatment, how satisfied they are with current medications, and what features they would value most in new treatment options, including long-acting alternatives.

Your feedback will help researchers and clinicians develop future thyroid care that better supports real-life needs.

This survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous. We will not collect your name or any identifying information. Results will be analysed in summary form only and may be published in scientific journals.

Participation is voluntary. You may skip any question or stop at any time.

If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@thethyx.com

The next questions describe possible thyroid treatment options. Please imagine each scenario carefully and select what you would do if this option were available to you. There are no right or wrong answers simply choose what feels most realistic for you.
  • A) Imagine an implant that keeps your thyroid levels a little more stable than your current tablets. It would require a 30-minute clinic visit once each year for the procedure and only two blood tests per year. The implant would cost about $10 more per month than your current medication. Would you choose this implant instead of your current tablets?
  • B) Imagine an implant that keeps your thyroid levels very stable and reduces your blood tests to one per year. You would need a 30-minute clinic visit once each year for the procedure. The implant would cost about $25 more per month than your current medication. Would you choose this implant instead of your current tablets?
  • C) Imagine an implant that makes your thyroid levels more stable and reduces blood tests to one per year. You would only need a 30-minute clinic visit once every two years, and the cost would be about the same as what you pay now. Would you choose this implant instead of your current tablets?
  • Treatment Cost and Willingness to Switch

The following questions help us understand how cost influences treatment choices. There are no right or wrong answers. Please choose the option that best matches how you would feel.
  • People’s budgets are different, and there are no right or wrong answers. If a long-acting implant worked as well or better than your current tablets and cost about the same per month, would you switch?
  • If an implant made your thyroid levels more stable and reduced blood tests to 1–2 per year, how would you feel about paying for it compared with what you pay now?
  • If the implant gave much more stable results with fewer blood tests, would the price affect your decision?
