Evaluation of scholarship applications and the subsequent ranking of applicants shall be the sole responsibility of a designated committee, independent of the Austin County Fair.
Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors in Austin County. To qualify, the applicant MUST have participated in the Austin County Fair for a minimum of two years as an exhibitor in Home Economics, Livestock, or as a Junior Fair Board Member. Applicant must be an active member and in good standing of Texas FFA, 4-H, FCCLA or TAFE.
A current official high school transcript is required. The official transcript MUST show the students GPA and the class ranking along with the number of students in the graduating class.
Scholarship recipients will be required to be enrolled as a full time student and maintain a minimum course load of 12 semester hours at an approved and accredited college, university, or trade school and must maintain a minimum grade point average each semester of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Failure to complete 12 semester hours per regular semester will be grounds for termination of the scholarship.
Scholarship payments are sent directly to the college/trade school/university after required paperwork is received and processed through the Fair Office. NO RUSH payments will be allowed. Your tuition may be due prior to receiving funds from this scholarship. The Austin County Fair is not responsible for late payments or classes dropped due to arrival of scholarship monies to the institution. Please be prepared to make appropriate accomodations.
