We're calling on artists to share their creations for Toy Stories, an upcoming exhibition that dives into the cultural, emotional, and imaginative realms of toys. Toys are often the first things we fall in love with - and sometimes the first things we break. We’re open to interpretations that highlight the joy of play, reflect on childhood nostalgia, or turn toys into surprising artistic expressions. We want all kinds of art that capture the playful, nostalgic spirit of toys. This could also include more conceptual ideas, like trees crafted from toy blocks, classic board games reimagined in a new light, or collages that showcase a cherished doll or character from your own toy collection. Celebrate the toys that brought you happiness in your childhood or that one you always wished you could have.

Toy Stories is open to all area artists—from seasoned professionals to emerging creators. Del Ray Artisans members pay a lower entry fee. If you are not a member, you may join Del Ray Artisans now.
Entry to this exhibit is by online submission. Art may be two- or three-dimensional, and in any medium. No strict size limits, but please be considerate of other artists and the physical limits of the gallery before entering oversized pieces. Oversized pieces of merit will be accepted if space permits. If submitting a multi-piece 2D artwork (such as a diptych or triptych), all parts must be framed together into one piece unless cleared in advance with the curator. Art should be ready to hang or display with wire and screw eyes, mounting and/or display stand, framed, matted, or with edges finished. We cannot show work that is not ready for exhibition. If your artwork hanging system varies greatly from this example, contact the curators. See DelRayArtisans.org/exhibits/art-guidelines for additional details.
