Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Black Women in Food Summit. The Summit will be held on April 23-25, 2026 in Washington, DC. The event is an opportunity for food, beverage, and hospitality professionals to connect, learn and find opportunities for growth.

Please read the information below carefully before submitting an application.

Volunteer Participation Overview
Volunteers support the flow and logistics of the Summit. Volunteer roles are limited and submitting an application does not guarantee placement.

Volunteer Application Timeline
Volunteer applications open: Tuesday, January 20
Volunteer applications close: Friday, February 6
All applicants will be notified: Week of February 16
All applicants, whether selected or not, will receive notification by the stated date.

Access & Expectations

Volunteer access is shift-based and limited to assigned shift(s) and day(s)
Volunteer roles do not include full Summit access
Volunteers are expected to fulfill all assigned shifts and follow on-site leadership direction
Failure to complete assigned shifts may result in removal from the volunteer program

Applying to volunteer does not reserve a ticket, pause pricing, or guarantee complimentary access to the Summit

Crowd Management: Assists with directing attendees, managing lines and foot traffic, and ensuring safe, orderly movement throughout the event space.Communication & Press Support: Assist with media relations, press coordination, and communication needs during the event.Greeters: Welcome guests, provide event information, and answer general questions to enhance the guest experience.Experiential Activations: Support interactive and experiential activities for attendees.Event Set-Up/Breakdown: Assist in preparing and dismantling event spaces, ensuring everything is arranged and cleared efficiently.Event Logistics: Assist with the event's operational needs, including troubleshooting issues, managing the command center, replenishing supplies, and handling various other logistical tasks.Registration/Check-In; Call Center: Handle attendee check-ins and manage registrations.Speaker Support: Provide assistance to speakers, ensuring they have what they need and are supported through out the event. Note that you may be required to attend meetings in March and April to prepare.
