Leadership Position: AHEPPP Awards Committee
Reports to: AHEPPP Awards Committee Chair
Length of Term: January 2026-December 2026
Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week, varies
Description: The Family Engagement in Higher Education Awards Committee provides leadership and strategic direction for the Family Engagement in Higher Education Awards. Guided by the AHEPPP mission, vision, values, and current strategic priorities, the Awards Committee works collaboratively to plan and execute the Family Engagement in Higher Education Awards nomination, review, and selection process. The AHEPPP Awards Committee is separate from the National Conference Committee but works closely with them to coordinate award presentations at the National Conference held annually each fall.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute marketing and recruitment of award nominations
- Solicit internal and external award reviewers and coordinate the review process
- Collaborate with the AHEPPP National Conference Committee to coordinate award presentations at the 2026 AHEPPP National Conference
Desired qualifications:
- Current member of association with at least two years of experience engaging with parents and families at the collegiate level
- Strong organizational, assessment, and marketing skills
- Relational, collaborative, dependable, and responsive
- Ability to meet regularly with the Awards Committee and Chair
- Ability to attend the 2026 Family Engagement in Higher Education National Conference
- All applicants must submit a signed letter from their supervisor certifying institutional support to attend national conferences. Institutional support includes travel costs (conference registration, airfare, hotel, ground transportation, and meals).
