  • 2026 California Green Medal Sustainable Winegrowing Leadership Awards Application

  • All applicants will be considered for each of the categories below. The judges will evaluate your application and determine the best category(ies) for your organization. Please ensure your responses to each question sufficiently address all categories.

    Environment: Award will be given to the vineyard and/or winery that can best demonstrate maximized environmental benefits from implementing specific practices, projects, or initiatives.

    Community: Award will be given to the vineyard and/or winery with the most innovative practices or program that enhance relations with employees, neighbors and/or communities.

    Business: Award will be given to the vineyard and/or winery that can best demonstrate efficiencies and cost savings from implementing specific practices, projects, or initiatives.

    Leader: Applicants will be considered for this award in addition to the above categories. This award will be given to the vineyard and/or winery that best exhibits qualities of integrity, responsibility, transparency, dedication, innovation, and generosity, while balancing the 3 E’s of sustainability (environmentally sound, socially equitable, and economically feasible).

    Please ensure your answers:

    • Include measurable results that demonstrate efficiencies and cost savings from implementing specific practices, projects, or initiatives within the last five years.
    • Make a clear connection between the information included in each section and each award category (e.g., how does water or energy efficiency link to good business practices? How does prioritizing biodiversity and soil health benefit the community?)

    Please include a maximum of three relevant support documents, in addition to the one required proof of participation in a sustainable winegrowing program. (Note: proof of participation in a sustainable winegrowing program is required and does not count as one of your three allowed documents.)
