    National Cohort Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2026 winter Bold & Safe Course!

The 2026 winter course will run from January 13 to March 24, 2026 with live sessions on Tuesdays at 2P ET | 11A PT. Review the schedule here.

This application opens on Thursday, November 6, and closes on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

Applicants interested in applying for the Bold & Safe Course must fit the criteria for application and readiness and are required to complete the following questionnaire. Applicants may be asked to participate in a follow-up interview.

This is a high-demand program, and we will be accepting a limited number of participants—only one participant from each applying organization will be considered. Prioritization will be given to applicants who meet the required criteria, the optimal conditions of readiness, and reside in or serve populations in the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Texas.

The Bold & Safe training fees follow the sliding scale below based on organizational budget size. Upon acceptance into the program, your organization will be sent a course offering with the associated fee for your budget size listed in your application. *The Bold & Safe program is designed for educational and informational purposes and does not provide legal advice. NLA and TCS both contribute to the Bold & Safe program.*
  • This winter, we're offering two cohort opportunities for Bold & Safe participants:

    • National Cohort: Supports operational staff at multi-entity organizations across the country with the critical ingredients needed to implement new strategies and compliant practices in the face of risk.
    • California Cohort: Supports operational staff at multi-entity organizations that are California-based or taking action in California in 2026 with state-specific content—focusing on the unique state and local compliance requirements in California.
  • Since your organization has plans to organize in California, we highly recommend you apply for the NEW Bold & Safe in California course.

Please use the link below to complete the application for the new, upcoming California cohort:

    Apply to the California Cohort

  • Since your organization DOES NOT have plans organize in California, the National cohort is the right course for you.

Proceed with the remainder of the application to apply.

  • Part 1: About Your Multi-Entity Organizations

The following questions will help us learn about your multi-entity organizations, including whether you meet the required criteria. Note that some of the questions provide details about related requirements, which you can see when you hover over them.

  • Organization Information

The Bold & Safe Program is for organizations that already have in place multiple entities. Applicant organizations must already have in place a 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), Political Action Committees (state and/or federal PACs), and/or other corporate entities (such as LLCs).

  • Note: The ERC: Bold & Safe Course uses a sliding scale based on organization size.

    <$1M $750
    $1-5M $1500
    >$5M  $3000

Training fees help support the development and running of the program for organizations that have professional development funds. If you are accepted to the program and price is an issue, please let us know.

  • Operational Capacity

  • Executive Leadership

  • Part 2: Open-Ended Questions

The following questions will provide us with a bit more information about why you and your organization are interested in participating in the course.

  • Part 3: Participant Information

The Bold & Safe course is specifically for operations staff who oversee compliance for their organization, preferably in a decision-making role over organizational operations.

Because of the limited number of slots available, organizations will only be able to have ONE staff member participate in the course.

  • OPTIONAL Demographic Questions

Note: The following questions are optional and are only used to help the ERC team understand the overall demographics of applicant organizations and participants.

While NLA and TCS value diversity and support organizations serving vulnerable and systemically oppressed communities, your responses will not affect whether or not you are selected for the program. This information simply helps us compare collective responses and design a more inclusive program.

  • Closing

Thank you for taking time to apply for the 2026 Winter Bold & Safe Course. As a reminder: a limited number of organizations will be selected to participate in the cohort. Accepted applicants will be announced by December 4th, 2025.

For additional information about the course, including any updated information and how to reach us for questions, please see the Bold & Safe Course website.
