Teacher Proposal for West Village Homeschool Cooperative in Maple Plain

West Village seeks to partner with passionate and skilled individuals who are excited to teach in a non-traditional environment. Mentors who can bring in stories, teach through questions, movement (when appropriate), hands on immersive projects, are the people we'd like to contract with.

We want to spark curiosity and support a love of learning in our homeschoolers. Only apply if this sounds like the sort of environment you'd like to contribute to.

You must commit to a full semester or specify you’d like to teach a shorter workshop style class. Fall semester is 13 weeks and winter/spring is 15 weeks.

You prepare meaningful lessons, show up and connect with the kids! We do the marketing, fill your class, pay for the location, organize registration, and pay you fairly as a 1099 contractor. If you provide services, a w9 must be filled out prior to your first pay check. When brought onboard, we will cover the cost of an online shirt and sweet background check.

Payment- Depends on class demand, enrollment, expertise and other factors. See below. Further discussion will take place following application.

Expected pay per class? (Our minimum pay is $30/ hr class, with most teachers with a full class earning $50/ hr class.. Pay is negotiable based on demand for class, teacher qualifications and student enrollment)

We want our classes to be interdisciplinary. We invite vendors to curate classes that include aspects of a "Know, Wonder, Do" outline. This ensures kids leave with new knowledge, having engaged with the material through questions, stories and challenges, and having used their bodies- as opposed to sitting in a desk for an hour with worksheets and lecture. Having a multi-sensory experience and learning within context enhances human learning. Will you teach in this manner?*
