Thank you for your interest in joining our Fashion Miniatures course! We have designed a fabulous workshop that will be focused on intermediate hand-sewing skills. We are requesting applicants to complete this short questionnaire, attach a photo of the sewing project they are most proud of, and a photo of the completed sampler described below. When we have reviewed the applications we will be back in touch.

Hand-Sewing Skills

This course will be entirely hand-sewn, it’s imperative that students are comfortable with basic hand-sewing techniques.

Please attach a photo of the completed sewing sampler described below. The sampler could be from muslin or any other solid colored woven cotton fabric. Please sew using a contrast colour thread.

On a 12” x 12” square please complete the following stitches by hand:

1. Running stitch
2. Basting stitch
3. Backstitch
4. Catch stitch
5. Blanket Stitch
