    Was the last time you were taught how to do an assessment in graduate school? Has your approach to assessment changed with each place you have worked? Join us in exploring best practices for throrough biopsychosocial assessments and how to apply them in a culturally aware manner. We will also provide an overview of specific assessment types that you might be asked to do and how to approach those ethically.

    Lorilei K Baker (LCSW Illinois, LISW Iowa) has worked at Lutheran Services in Iowa, Refugee Connection and Resettlement, and in private practice. Her areas of expertise include addictions, attachment challenges, sexual, physical, and emotional trauma, as well as distress associated with refugee resettlement. She offers in-service training for agencies, medical professionals, and service providers on creating more culturally competent and LGBTQIA+ affirming practices.‍

Participants will receive an evaluation to complete after the program, which will generate their CE certificate. Inclusive Insight Psychotherapy and Consulting, provider number 2389, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 8/15/25-8/15/26. Social workers completing this course receive 1 cultural competence and 1 ethics continuing education credits.
