Accessibility 2026
Beat-Herder is committed to making the festival as accessible as possible to everyone that wants to come and join us.
The information below is a summary about the practicalities and facilities within the festival site.
The Site
The land used for the festival is a working farm with varying surfaces and areas that will be easier to manage than others. The weather conditions can inevitably affect the accessibility of the whole site.
There are many venues that will have music playing and entertainment throughout the weekend. Both the sizes and unique locations of each venue may make it tricky to provide viewing platforms in all but also means that there is music accessible to everyone.
Facilities
There are a fair few places across the site where people can sit and relax if they want a break from the festivities, as well as accessible toilets, water taps, the info point and welfare across the site.
Camping
The accessible camping area is situated next to the arena entrance to make it easier for mobility access into the festival. The accessible location of the campsite is close to the venues, concessions and bars (there are quieter areas in the general camping if needed).
The camping area provides easy access to the designated car park, accessible showers/toilets and electrical charging points for wheelchairs/mobility scooters. Anyone eligible to stay in this area can camp with up to 4 people (including themselves and subject to availability of limited space) and 1 live-in vehicle or 1 space in the car park.
The number of people needing campsite access and/or any vehicle requests must be included in the original application. It may not be possible to accommodate any additional requests made after the application has been confirmed because of the allocation of space within the area.
Essential Companion Scheme
The Essential Companion scheme provides an additional pass for someone with needs such as mobility, medical or communication who wouldn’t be able to come to the festival without bringing an essential companion with them.
To request accessible tickets and facilities, we ask you to provide details of your Access Card.
To be eligible for the Essential Companion Scheme, you must have the +1 symbol (this confirms you require personal support to attend).
If you don’t have an Access Card, our partners at Nimbus can undertake a FREE application for you to obtain a Beat-Herder Digital Access Pass (DAP) so you can request accessible tickets and facilities during the event.
Expectations of an Essential Companion
The Essential Companion is expected to:
- Arrive and leave the festival with the accessibility customer.
- Provide appropriate support throughout the event (e.g. mobility, communication, medical, or emotional assistance).
- Be capable of making decisions in the event of an emergency.
- Follow site safety guidance and respect accessibility facilities provided for you both
Essential Companion Key Information
- EC must be 18+ and able to assist you independently throughout the event, without support from the accessibility team.
- EC receives the same access you have (e.g. 3-day weekend or 4-day weekend access depending on which ticket you have bought)
- Extras (parking, accommodation) are not included.
