Early Years Teacher

West Wimmera Shire Council has a vacancy for a qualified Early Childhood Teacher to lead the delivery of a high-quality educational program at our Edenhope Service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small and committed team of educators, in a service with excellent facilities in a rural setting.  

The successful candidate will have: 

Sound knowledge and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safe Standards.  
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and colleagues

The successful candidate is required to have an approved qualification for minimum graduate entry as an Early Childhood Teacher and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. 

This position is offered on a part-time basis, with hours negotiable between 24-32 hours per week to suit the successful candidate.

Selection Criteria #1 - Approved qualifications for minimum graduate level entry as an Early Childhood Teacher (Bachelor of Early Childhood / Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood); and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.*

Selection Criteria #3 Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a kindergarten program which meets the individual developmental needs and interests of children.*

Selection Criteria #4 Highly developed communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare professional correspondence and reports.*

Selection Criteria #5 Demonstrated awareness of the need and requirements to maintain privacy and confidentiality.*
