Instructions
Thanks for applying to be a regional demonstrator. Please fill out the form completely and provide full and accurate descriptions for your proposed demonstrations. Applications will be accepted through December 15th, 2025. Notifications will be made early February 2026. In order to be considered you must not have demonstrated at our event in the past two years (2024 or 2025) or be demonstrating for the RMWT Club/FRWT Club in the same calendar year (2026). The Rocky Mountain Woodturning Symposium will take place September 18-20, 2026 in Loveland, Colorado.
About the RMWT Symposium
2026 will be the RMWT Symposium's 24th event. The symposium committee invites a selection of lead demonstrators and the remaining rotations are filled with people like yourself who apply to be regional demonstrators. There are a total of 45 rotations over three days, attendance is usually around 250.
Standard Demonstrations vs. Hands-on Rotations
Our symposium includes both standard demonstrations and hands-on rotations. Both are 1.5 hours in length. The standard demonstration rooms are equipped with a lathe and standard accessories, a grinder and chuck. Demonstrators are asked to provide their own materials (wood, tools, etc.). The Hands-on Room consists of 10 mini-lathes with basic tooling and chucks. Hands-on instructors are asked to provide materials (wood, paint, special tools, etc.) for all students. The hands-on area can accomodate up to 8 participants.

The symposium will take place September 18-20, 2026 in Loveland, Colorado. All demonstrators receive an honorarium of $250 per rotation. As a small symposium, we are unable to provide a travel or accommodation stipend for regional demonstrators. Therefore you are either local or willing to pay for the associated expenses. As a regional demonstrator you will be required to provide your own wood, tools and materials, the symposium will provide a lathe with accessories, a grinder, a chuck and will do our best to accomodate special requests on a case by case basis. You will also be provided with complimentary symposium registration and invited to all associated activities.
