The Teacher of the Year (TOY) Program annually recognizes outstanding classroom teachers from any accredited Sioux Falls School District school.
Eligibility: A classroom teacher is someone who has their own class and spends at least three or more hours per day, five days per week, for six months or more calendar months during the school year teaching students.
Not eligible: School counselors, school psychologists, and school social workers
Award: The winner of the 38th Annual Teacher of the Year Award will receive $4,000, generously donated by Vern Eide Motorcars.
Nomination Requirements:
- Any colleague, parent, administrator, student, or community member may submit a nomination.
- Responses must include detailed, specific examples of the nominee's impact.
- Each response should be at least 250 words.
- Incomplete nominations will not be considered.
