  • Tax Preparation Letter of Engagement & Business Expenses Agreement:

Thank you for choosing Tactical Tax Solutions for your tax preparation needs. This engagement letter outlines the terms of our agreement and the responsibilities of both parties to ensure accurate and timely preparation of your income tax return(s).

By proceeding with our services, you authorize Tactical Tax Solutions (“we,” “us,” or “the firm”) to prepare your federal and, if applicable, state income tax return(s) based on the information you provide. All services will be performed with professionalism, accuracy, and in full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Your signature below indicates your acknowledgment and acceptance of the terms of this agreement.

     SCOPE OF SERVICES:

We will prepare your current‑year federal income tax return and any applicable state income tax return(s) using the documentation and information you provide.

If additional services are required—such as multiple state filings, business returns (e.g., Schedule C), or specialized forms—additional fees may apply. All additional fees will be communicated and approved in advance.

This engagement does not include legal, financial, or investment advisory services, nor representation in the event of an audit or legal proceeding unless a separate written agreement is executed. Additional services (e.g., tax planning, bookkeeping, audit support) are available under separate engagement terms.

     CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

To ensure accurate and timely preparation of your return(s), you agree to:

Accuracy of Information: Provide complete and accurate information necessary for preparing your tax return(s).
Documentation: Submit all required tax documents (e.g., W‑2s, 1099s, income statements, expense records) promptly upon request.
Record Retention: Retain copies of all source documents supporting your income, deductions, and credits. You remain solely responsible for maintaining these records for audit or verification purposes.
Timely Communication: Respond promptly to all inquiries or requests for clarification to prevent delays.
Review Prior to Filing: Review your completed return(s) before submission and confirm that all information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

    FIRM RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Tactical Tax Solutions will:

Prepare your tax return(s) with due care, diligence, and in accordance with IRS and state requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and safeguard your personal and financial information in compliance with IRS Publication 4557 and applicable privacy laws.
Communicate clearly regarding any concerns, discrepancies, or items requiring clarification.
Advise you of any potential issues affecting your filing, audit risk, or compliance obligations.
We are committed to delivering professional, ethical, and secure tax preparation services.

CONSENT TO CONTACT IRS & ACCESS PRIOR YEAR TAX INFORMATION:

By signing this agreement, you grant Tactical Tax Solutions permission to:

Contact the IRS on your behalf and, if applicable, on behalf of your spouse to verify outstanding debts, refund offsets, account balances, identity‑related issues, or other tax‑related obligations.
Access, request, and view unmasked IRS transcripts, including prior‑year tax returns, wage and income statements, and account transcripts, for the purpose of accurate tax preparation and debt verification.
Submit IRS Form 8821 (Tax Information Authorization) on your behalf, either electronically or by fax, to obtain the transcripts and tax account information needed to prepare your return(s).

    Purpose of Form 8821:

Form 8821 authorizes Tactical Tax Solutions to receive your IRS tax information directly from the IRS. It does not give the firm permission to file your tax return, make changes to your account, or represent you in an audit.

Its sole purpose is to allow us to:

    * Request and receive transcripts
    * Verify income reported to the IRS
    * Confirm prior‑year filings
    * Check for refund offsets or outstanding balances
    * Resolve missing or inconsistent information needed     for accurate tax preparation

This authorization is limited strictly to obtaining information necessary to complete your tax return(s) and confirm any federal obligations that may affect your refund.

    Refund Offset Policy:

If your refund is reduced or fully offset by the IRS or state for past‑due debts (e.g., taxes, child support, student loans), you remain responsible for paying the full tax preparation fee.

If your refund is offset, the tax preparation fee becomes due immediately upon receiving notice from the IRS and/or the bank. By signing this agreement, you authorize Tactical Tax Solutions to collect this fee using the payment method on file.

     FILING AUTHORIZATION:

Your return(s) will not be filed until you have reviewed, signed and approved them.

Upon approval, you authorize Tactical Tax Solutions to electronically file (e‑file) your federal and/or state return(s). By signing this engagement, you confirm that:

You have reviewed your completed return(s).
You authorize electronic filing after verbal or written approval.
You have confirmed your preferred refund or payment method (e.g., direct deposit, refund advance, check).

    Non‑Filing Policy:

If you choose not to file after your return has been prepared, an abandonment fee of $150 will be due immediately and processed using the bank account information provided on your intake form.

     FEES AND PAYMENT TERMS

Fees are based on the complexity of your return(s), the number of schedules/forms required, and any additional state filings.

    Payment Options:

Pay in advance via credit/debit card using Cash App, Zelle Stripe, Square, Venmo, ACH or deduct fees from your refund (for clients using bank product services).
Additional fees may apply for refund advance options or third‑party financial products. All fees will be disclosed prior to acceptance.

    Refund Policy:

Once services have been completed, no refunds will be issued, regardless of filing status, refund outcome, or any decision not to file. You are paying for professional expertise and time, not a guaranteed result.

The firm reserves the right to withhold e‑filing or release of documents until all balances are paid in full.

Tactical Tax Solutions cannot guarantee a specific refund amount, credit, or outcome. Final refund or balance‑due amounts are determined by the IRS and/or state tax authorities.

     RECORD RETENTION POLICY:

Tactical Tax Solutions will retain copies of your completed tax return(s) and required supporting documents for three (3) years.

You are responsible for retaining all original source documents (e.g., W‑2s, 1099s, receipts, bank statements, proof of deductions or credits).

A $50 document retrieval fee may apply for copies requested after the filing period.

     TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT:

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time prior to filing.
If services have already been rendered, fees for completed work remain due.

Tactical Tax Solutions reserves the right to terminate this engagement if:

Required information is not provided within a reasonable timeframe.
False or misleading information is discovered,
    Communication becomes unprofessional or abusive,
or continuing the engagement would compromise ethical or professional standards.
If termination occurs after the return has been prepared but not filed, the abandonment fee will apply.

     NON‑DISPARAGEMENT:

By signing this agreement, you agree not to make or publish any false, misleading, or defamatory statements—whether written, verbal, or online—about Tactical Tax Solutions, its owners, employees, services, or business practices. This includes statements made on social media, review platforms, or any public forum.

This clause does not prevent you from sharing honest feedback directly with the firm or expressing opinions based on your actual experience. It also does not restrict your right to report concerns to the IRS, state tax authorities, or any government agency as permitted by law.

The purpose of this clause is to encourage respectful communication. Allow both parties the opportunity to resolve concerns professionally and in good faith.

Legal Action for Defamation, Slander, or Malicious Intent:

If a client engages in defamation, slander, or makes statements with malicious intent that harm the reputation or business operations of Tactical Tax Solutions. The firm reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal action. This may include seeking damages, legal fees, and any other remedies available under applicable law.

     PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY:

Tactical Tax Solutions complies with IRS Publication 4557 and all applicable federal and state privacy laws.

Your personal and financial information will be securely stored and will not be shared with any third party without your written consent, except as required by law.

     ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND SIGNATURE:

By signing below, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this Tax Preparation Engagement Agreement with Tactical Tax Solutions.
