  • Enrolment Procedure

    All Enrolment forms are due by 6pm Monday 8th December 2025.

    All forms submitted are subject to availability.

    Priority Vacancies Allocation:

    First Priority: Vacancies will be initially offered to children who are already attending Metella Road Public School's Before and After School Care program.

    Second Priority: Following the first priority, any remaining vacancies will be offered to children currently enrolled at Metella Road Public School.

    Third Priority: Any additional vacancies will be made available to children living within the local area, at the discretion of the centre's management.
    All placements will be allocated in accordance with the guidelines set by the Department of Family and Community Services.

    New Enrolments: As part of our transition process for new enrolments, all new students attending Metella Road OOSH for their first Vacation Care will participate in in-house days only. This allows our educators to spend time building relationships, supporting each child as they settle in, and helping them become familiar with our environment and routines before joining excursions at a later stage.

    We appreciate your understanding as we create a calm and positive start for all our new OOSH friends.

    Ensure that emergency contact details are current over the vacation period.             

    Operational Hours: Centre opens at 7am and closes at 6pm.

    Late Fees will apply for children picked up after 6pm. For each individual child, families will incur a $20 late pick up fee plus an additional $5.00 for every minute after 6pm. 

    Parents must send along enough food to last the full day.
    Children must bring in 1 piece of fruit to be cut up and shared for afternoon tea.
    DO NOT SEND anything that needs to be cooked or prepared; send a packed lunch – LIKE YOU WOULD SEND FOR SCHOOL.

    Breakfast at the centre consists of cereal, toast and juice/milk: (7am – 8:30am only)

    Where: Patrick St, Blacktown NSW 2148

    Transport: Baxters Coaches- Coach with Seatbelts

    Are Seatbelts required during this excursion: YES

    Departure: Departure 9:15am, Activities to Begin at 10:00 am and is estimated to conclude at 12:15pm. Students will then return to the service.

    All children attending will need to be at the service by 8:30am

    Return: Approximate return to the centre 12:30pm

    Staff: Up to 55 children, with a staff to child ratio of 1:8. 7 Staff will be attending the excursion. 

    First Aid: All staff attending are trainied in first aid.

    What to bring: Centre’s green excursion T-Shirt must be worn, hat and enclosed supportive shoes and grip socks if already have (no sandals, thongs, crocs, ballet flats).

    Children will be required to take their recess and lunch.

  • Health and Safety

    • The Centre at all times, follows the recommendations of NSW Health and NSW Department of Education in regards to COVID practises.
    • Emergency drills are practiced randomly throughout the holidays. The evacuation plan is in place and located at each exit point.
    • First aid kits are easily accessible and well stocked at all times.
    • At all times we will have educators on the grounds and on excursions who hold a current First Aid Certificate, as well as asthma and anaphylaxis training.
    • Parents will be contacted if their child becomes ill, injured or appears distressed.
    • Parents will be informed if there are any infectious diseases in circulation.

     

    Our Service is committed to ensuring we are providing a healthy and safe environment for all children and educators, and we have specific risk minimisation strategies in place to minimise the spread of infectious diseases. 

    What if my child is unwell?

    While we realise that families have work and family commitments of their own, exclusion periods are essential to ensure the health and safety of the ill child, other children at the service and staff.

    The length of the exclusion period will vary depending on the infection or illness concerned. We are guided by decisions regarding exclusion periods and notification of infectious diseases by the Australian Government- Department of Health.     It is important to ensure all children, families and educators are kept safe by ensuring that if presenting with Covid 19 symptoms or unwell that a rapid covid test is performed. Please ensure children are kept home if presenting with symptoms. 

  • General

    • While at the service my child may be photographed and appear in photo books, organisation videos, social media or our website. If I do not wish for this to occur then I need to inform the service in writing.
    • Children must be dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.
    • Children must wear enclosed shoes and sun safe clothing which covers the shoulders. Midriff, crop or singlet tops do not provide adequate protection and may not be worn.
    • It is my responsibility to provide all medications for my child and complete the appropriate forms. As per Regulation 95, medication must be supplied in the original container, bearing the original label with the child's name, instructions and before the expiry or use by date. Medication cannot be administered if there is not a completed medication form of it is not in its original container.
    • All children are expected to follow the service agreements and staff instructions. 
    • I agree to abide by all Metella Road Out Of School Hours INC, policies and procedures. These can be viewed on request at the service or from our website.

  • Sun Safety

    Slip! Slop! Slap! Seek! Slide!

    • Sunscreen is available at the service. Staff will assist and remind children to reapply sunscreen throughout the day as needed. If your child has specific sunscreen needs or allergies, please provide a suitable alternative and inform the staff.
    • It is a part of our Sun Safety Policy that children wear a hat when outdoors when the UV is above 3.  Please ensure your child brings a hat each day.
    • I understand that it is a Centre requirement for my child to bring a HAT everyday he/she attends vacation care. I am aware that my child will be unable to attend vacation care if this requirement is not met.
  • Arrival, Departure, and Absences

    • I must come into the service each morning and sign my child into care. The service cannot be held liable for any child not signed into care.
    • I must come into the service each afternoon before 6:00pm and sign my child out of care. A late fee will apply after 6:00pm.
    • If my child is absent on a booked day, I must contact the service and inform educators of my child’s absence.
    • I will be charged for any absent days.
  • Fees

    • Daily fees: The daily fees include charges for any incursion or activities on the day. This removes out of pocket expenses and the full amount becomes eligible for CCS rebate
    • The base daily fee begins at $85 and increases depending on the cost of any special activities, incursion or excursion. Please note: forms are subject to availability.
    • As a condition of enrolment, all families must have direct debit set up via XPLOR. No other method of payment will be available.
  • These are the service's 'Agreements' that have been made with the children attending the Centre.

    Would you please read these with your child/ren 

    • We treat people the way we would like to be treated.
    • We should walk inside the Centre.
    • We should walk outside under the COLA area & on hard surfaces.
    • We should speak respectfuly and keep our hands and feet to ourselves. 
    • We listen to staff at all times and follow their instruction.
    • We are careful with, and respect each other’s belongings.
    • We always clean up after ourselves.
    • We leave mobile phones at home. Any personal property brought to the centre is the responsibility of the owner.
    • We know our boundaries and will try to stay within them at all times.
    • We will follow these expectations to make our Centre a happy, fun and safe place to be

    THE CENTRE ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILILITY FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY BROUGHT TO THE CENTRE THAT IS SHARED WITH OTHER CHILDREN, LOST, STOLEN OR BROKEN.

  • Personal Electronic Devices

    To ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children, personal electronic devices are not permitted to be brought to the service. This policy helps us maintain a focus on play-based learning, social interaction, and child safety.

    Children will have the opportunity to use the service’s devices during designated times as part of the daily program. These devices are used under supervision and for educational or structured recreational purposes.

    If a child brings a personal device, staff will store it securely and return it to the parent/guardian at the end of the day. The service is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen personal devices.
