The objective of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau® internship program is to provide students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, agribusiness, ag communications, ag marketing or ag education, with an opportunty to:
- Broaden their understanding of the ag industry
- Engage with members of the agricultural industry
- Promote agriculture
- Explore career opportunities within Farm Bureau
Qualifications:
- Graduating high school senior or current college student studying agriculture, agribusiness, ag communications, ag marketing or ag education.
- Interest and basic knowledge of agriculture
- Good communications skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Must have access to transportation that adequately fills job responsibilities
- A valid driver’s license
- The ability to lift 25-50 lbs. is a necessity.
Location:
The Internship will be based out of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau office (1925 S Meridian Rd, Rockford, IL 61102). Programs and events may require travel outside of Boone and Winnebago counties.
Salary & Hours:
The Internship salary is $16/hour and is approximately 25 hours a week during normal hours of operation with occasional evening and weekend events and meetings from May-August.
Basic Responsibilities include:
- Promote and facilitate Ag-in-the-Classroom and Consumer Education projects
- Assist with Summer Ag Institute for teachers
- Assist with public relations efforts through social media, newsletters, press releases and other correspondence
- Coordinate activities and volunteers for the County Fairs
- Assist with fundraising for the comprehensive Ag Ed program in Boone and Winnebago counties
- Other duties as assigned
