    This Tax Preparation Service Agreement (the "Agreement") outlines the scope of services provided by Lilico Accounting Corporation and your obligations as the client. This Agreement ensures a clear understanding of our respective roles and responsibilities.

    Please read this Agreement carefully and confirm your acceptance by signing electronically in the designated space below. Payment will be processed on the following page.

     

    1. Scope of Services

      The professional tax preparation services we provide may vary based on your case. Our services may include, but are not limited to the following:
      1. Preparation and filing of your federal and provincial income tax returns with the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenu Québec (collectively – the “Tax Authorities”) based on the information that you provide to us.
      2. Preparation and filing of your GST/HST tax return with the Tax Authorities (for self-employed individuals only) based on the information that you provide to us.
      3. Provision of associated to your tax return advisory services.
      4. Delivery of services in accordance with the process outlined in Appendix A.
      5. Advising on unclear tax laws or potential conflicts by outlining reasonable courses of action, associated risks, and consequences, where necessary.

    2. Client Responsibilities and Commitment

      You agree to:
      1. Provide, upon our request, all necessary documentation and information in a timely manner. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and correctness of the provided information to ensure accurate tax returns.
      2. To assist you with the collection of the necessary information, detailed instructions will be provided to you via email after the service fee is paid.
      3. Regularly check your email for communication from us and contact us if you have not received any expected correspondence.
      4. Pay the agreed-upon service fee.
      5. Answer all questions truthfully and disclose all relevant information in the matter.
      6. Execute all necessary forms and provide all supporting documents.
      7. In case you are self-employed individual (business income), maintain and provide accurate income and expense records in an organized format (such as an Excel spreadsheet listing transaction dates, dollar amounts, and total amounts). A spreadsheet template will be provided to you. If bookkeeping assistance is required, it will be billed separately at an hourly rate, per our current pricing. In this case, you must provide us with all necessary receipts and supporting documents.
      8. Notify us of any changes to personal or financial information within two (2) days. Failure to update information may bare consequences, for which we are not responsible.
      9. Once we submit your T1, TP1, or sales tax return to the tax Authority, we are not responsible for delivery time, processing time, or the outcome of the filing. You are solely responsible for monitoring communications from the Tax Authority through your personal account with the appropriate authority, email, or mailing address. We will not communicate to you any information that may be provided by the Tax Authority pertaining to your file.

    3. Fee Structure

      1. Fees for our services are determined based on the complexity of the return and are communicated upfront.
      2. If any adjustments to the initial quote are necessary, they will be discussed and require your written approval.
      3. Full payment is required before our services are provided.

    4. Refunds and Cancellation

      1. You may request a refund based on the following refund structure:
        • 100% refund: If the request is canceled before assignment to a tax preparer.
        • 70% refund: If the request is canceled after assignment to a tax preparer but before your first meeting with a tax preparer.
        • No refund: After the first meeting with your tax preparer.
      2. You acknowledge that we do not have control of the tax assessment by the Tax Authority, and that the Tax Authority controls the tax assessment and processing timeline, which is outside our control.

    5. Confidentiality

      1. Your information and documents will be kept strictly confidential and only disclosed to agents and employees of Lilico Accounting Corporation. Information may be disclosed to third parties as required by law or authorized by you.
      2. We will not accept original documents - only photocopies or digital scans of the documents will be accepted. In case an original of a document is provided to us, it will not be returned. All original records must be securely stored by you, as they may be required to prove the accuracy and completeness of your tax return to the Tax Authority.
      3. Copies of documents related to your tax return will be retained for one (1) year before being securely destroyed.
      4. While we implement strong security measures, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of internet communication, including potential security breaches, transmission errors, and service interruptions.
      5. You acknowledge and agree that all data and information, including confidential information, provided to Lilico Accounting Corporation will be stored on servers located inside and outside of Canada. You expressly consent to the transfer and storage of your data to these servers, understanding that it will be subject to the laws and regulations of the country where the servers are located. We will use our best efforts to maintain a high degree of security for electronic communication and information storage.

    6. Audits and Reassessments

      1. In case you are subject to an audit by the Tax Authority, audit support is available for an extra fee.
      2. If the Tax Authority reassesses the tax return, we can assist with filing an appeal for an additional charge.

    7. Completion of Services and Termination

      1. Our engagement concludes once your tax return is filed with the Tax Authority.
      2. By signing the T183/TP-1000/MR-69 form, you confirm the accuracy of all provided information.
      3. Tax returns will be filed within 14 business days of receiving the signed T183/TP-1000/MR-69 form.
      4. We use an approved by the Tax Authorities third-party software to process tax returns. In the event of unforeseen technical issues, delays may occur.
      5. Lilico Accounting Corporation reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at any time.

    8. Correspondence and Communication

      1. All communication must occur via email or designated electronic platforms. Verbal communication or unwritten instructions will not be considered officially received.
      2. You must send all correspondence directly with your tax preparer’s work email provided to you.
      3. Other communication attempts (e.g., social media or phone calls) may be responded to, however, will not be considered official correspondence with Lilico Accounting Corporation and we are not responsible for any information shared through these communication methods.
      4. If you do not receive a response to your email within three (3) business days, you understand that it is your responsibility to follow up with Lilico Accounting Corporation.

    9. Force Majeure

      Lilico Accounting Corporation’s failure to perform any term of this Agreement, as a result of conditions beyond its control such as, but not limited to changes to the legislation, governmental restrictions or subsequent legislation, war, strikes, or acts of God, shall not be deemed a breach of this Agreement.

    10. Change Policy

      1. If we are asked to provide any services other than those outlined in this Agreement, or in case of a material change in your circumstances, the Agreement can be modified accordingly upon mutual agreement. Additional work is subject to extra fees, which will be discussed with you and your written authorization will be obtained.
      2. Any modification to this Agreement requires written approval from both parties.

    11. Agreement Confirmation

    By signing this form electronically, you confirm your acceptance of the terms outlined herein.

    A copy of the signed Agreement will be sent to the email address that you provided.

    This Agreement represents the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes any prior agreements or discussions. No changes are valid unless made in writing and signed by both parties.

    This Agreement is binding upon the parties, their heirs, administrators, successors, and permitted assigns.
