The Dog Salon Lincs' Terms and Conditions
  • The Dog Salon Lincs – Terms & Conditions

  • We’re sorry for the doom and gloom, fleas and fees below — but we believe in being as transparent as possible from the start! If you’d be kind enough to humour us for just a little longer, we promise you’re on the home stretch.

Please read the following carefully. By submitting this form, you confirm that all information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

    Health & Eligibility

Please let us know within 48 hours of your upcoming appointment if your dog has been unwell, injured, or had any infection (including ear infections).

We cannot groom dogs who are pregnant, whelping, coming into, or in season. This is non-negotiable, but we’ll happily explain why if needed.

    Unwanted Behaviour

The Dog Salon Lincs reserves the right to discontinue an appointment if we feel your dog is becoming aggressive or too scared to continue. Full payment will remain liable unless otherwise agreed in advance.

If the appointment can be completed but temperament issues arise, an additional charge of £5–£15 may apply depending on your dog’s size and the severity of the behaviour.

    Fleas

If your dog has fleas, we cannot proceed with an appointment due to the salon’s size and the risk of cross-contamination.

Please check your pet before arrival — if fleas are found during the appointment, the full groom cost will still be due (the appointment may be cancelled with immediate effect, and you will be required to collect your dog immediately).

A £10 fumigation fee will also apply to cover cleaning and treatment of the salon.

We can rebook once your dog has been flea-free for at least seven days.

    Coat Condition

In accordance with the DEFRA Animal Welfare Act (2006), if we cannot remove all mats (thick knotting) within a reasonable amount of time — our salon policy allows 20 minutes in total — we will clip off the coat underneath to avoid causing unnecessary pain or distress.

It is considered animal cruelty, and therefore illegal, to leave a dog in pain and/or distress. We follow the ‘Humanity Before Vanity’ principle, so although we’ll try to contact you first, if we cannot reach you we’ll proceed as needed for your dog’s welfare.

By signing these Terms and Conditions, you give us permission to carry this out if deemed necessary.

Additional charges: From £5–£25 for matted clip-offs or dematting, depending on size, coat condition, and severity.

Clipping or stripping a coat can sometimes reveal pre-existing skin conditions. If we notice anything, we’ll notify you at the end of the appointment — unless it’s a medical emergency or highly contagious, in which case we’ll stop the groom and contact you.

In the event of a medical emergency, we will take your dog to the vet immediately, whether or not we have successfully reached you. Full payment will still be due in this instance.

    General Health

If we find any lumps, bumps, or skin issues, we’ll let you know at the end of the appointment.

If your pet becomes ill or injured while in our care, you give us permission to take them to either Sutterton Veterinary Hospital or Allen Briggs & Turner – Kirton, with costs payable by you, except in the unlikely event of a salon error.

We cannot be held responsible for any form of accidental death, pre-existing conditions, or natural disasters (fire, flood, storm, etc.).

    Late Drop-Off or Pick-Up

Please call if you’re running late.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will not have enough time to complete your appointment and it will therefore be classed as a no-show.

Late collections are charged at £5 per 15 minutes after the first 15 minutes, as we work on a 1:1 basis and delays can affect other appointments.

A 50% non-refundable deposit may be required to rebook after a no-show or late cancellation.

    Cancellations

    • More than 48 hours’ notice: No fee.
    • Between 24–48 hours’ notice: 50% of the appointment cost due.
    • 24 hours or less: 100% of the appointment cost due, payable before the next appointment can be booked.

A 50% non-refundable deposit will also be required to secure all future bookings following a cancellation or no-show.

    General Terms

We always take the utmost care when working with your dog, but as they can sometimes move suddenly, there is a small risk of minor injury. While every precaution is taken to avoid this, The Dog Salon Lincs cannot be held responsible unless through direct negligence.

If you are unsatisfied with your dog’s haircut, please get in touch within 24 hours and we will do our best to resolve the issue within 5 working days free of charge. Appointments arranged after 5 working days may incur a small charge due to coat growth.

Please keep us updated on any changes to your dog’s health, medication, or behaviour. All charges incurred under these Terms are payable upon collection of your dog.

  • You don’t need to submit anything on this page — it’s simply here for you to read our full Terms & Conditions. Once you’ve finished, just return to your New Client Information Form tab to complete your booking.
