Please read and aknowledge the following statement:
All intake requests are reviewed by our Board of Directors and voted on by active board members. While we wish we could help every dog in need, we receive numerous requests each week and must make decisions based on the resources currently available to our rescue. A request may be declined due to factors such as limited funding, a lack of available foster homes, or medical and behavioral needs that exceed our current capacity.
Our goal is to ensure that every dog accepted into our program receives the highest standard of care and support. On average, we spend approximately $300 per dog on food, preventatives, and supplies while they are in foster care. The average cost to fully vet a heartworm negative dog is around $500, while heartworm-positive dogs often require significantly more medical treatment and expense.
As a nonprofit rescue, we rely entirely on donations to provide this care.At this time, priority may be given to dogs that are already altered and current on their veterinary care. Dogs with sponsorships, committed donations toward their care, or owners willing to contribute to medical expenses may also have a greater chance of acceptance into our program.
