TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
1. Every entrant must hold a valid ‘Competitive Membership’ to Table Tennis Wales or hold an equivalent to another ITTF Affiliated Association which will be recorded on TTW Membership Platform.
2. Table Tennis Wales Competition Procedure applies to these competitions. ITTF regulations for International Competitions apply to these competitions, except those relating to matters covered in Competitions Seedings and Drawings.
3. Completion and submission of the entry form signifies agreement by the entrant to the conditions of this competition.
4. All competitors may be required to umpire.
5. The referee’s decision shall be final on points of law, in any dispute as to the interpretation of these
regulations, and on any matters not covered by them.
6. Any member taking part in gambling (other than participation in any lottery of similar competition conducted by or with the permission of the organising committee at a tournament approved by the TTW) shall be liable to immediate disqualification from the tournament and expulsion from the premises. Such action will be reported to the TTW.
7. Any item of clothing other than socks or shoes shall be in accordance with ITTF Clothing Regulation.
8. Racket covering materials shall follow ITTF Regulations regarding rubber coverings.
9. All matches shall be the best of five games. Play throughout will be on a knockout basis with the exception of the first rounds of the singles events, which may, at the discretion of the Referee, be on a
group basis. Seeded players and any other players on a national ranking list may be drawn into the competition proper.
10. All groups will qualify by date of birth as at 1st Jan of the year in question relating to the age category (Cadets 15, Juniors 19, Vets 40 etc)
11. The Committee reserves the right to restrict entries and cancel events.
12. Players must report to the recorder’s table on arrival and permission to leave the hall must be obtained from the Referee.
13. Signing of the entry form constitutes agreement by the Competitor, under the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation, to the storing of his or her name, and address, on a computer system for the sole use of this tournament.
14. In accordance with the agreement with Sport Wales, players should note that anti-doping tests may be undertaken during this Tournament
15. Doping – Doping control tests may take place. The UK Anti-Doping Rules apply to all participants of the sport, including Minors, and they make all participants subject to drug Testing. For the purposes of those rules, consent of a parent or guardian to the Testing of a Minor is deemed to follow automatically from the fact that the Minor has been permitted by their parent or guardian to participate in Table Tennis. Therefore, any Minors participating in the sport may be subject to drug Testing.
16. Retirement from competitions – all records relating to an athlete’s retirement will be kept by Table Tennis Wales and shared with UKAD when requested.
17. All players are expected to umpire and will be refunded their player number fee after they have umpired or told by the referee they are not required. If fees are applicable.
