The overarching goal of this program is to equip licensed mental health professionals who are already generally skilled in the provision of psychotherapeutic interventions with the information and resources necessary to begin effectively treating adult clients who have obsessive compulsive disorder using empirically supported techniques.
Attendees will learn (Objectives):
1. To use empirically supported tools to assess and diagnose OCD in adult clientele
2. How avoidance and ritual behaviors contribute to the perpetuation and worsening of obsessions and distress
3. Three theories of how exposure with response prevention (ERP) helps those with OCD break free from symptoms and improve quality of living
4. How to apply ERP techniques to a wide variety of presentations of obsessions and compulsions, to help their clients become empowered over this condition
This program is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association to Provide 5.5 MCEs to licensed psychologists, and by the CSWMFT board in Ohio to provide 5.5 CEs to licensed counselors, social workers, and MFTs.

LOCATION: The Education Center at Eating and Behavioral Health Services, 5202 Bethel Reed Park, Suite 180, Columbus, OH 43220. (This is an ADA accessible facility.)

PRESENTER: Dr. Beth McCreary is a clinical psychologist board certified in behavioral and cognitive psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. She has owned and operated a private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive compulsive conditions in adults since 2003 (see ABHS.com). Dr. McCreary did her postdoctoral fellowship in the treatment of anxiety conditions at the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Clinic at The Ohio State University, completed a Behavior Therapy Training Institute with the International OCD Foundation, and is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychologists in Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. McCreary began a free support group for adults in the community who suffer from OCD and she has been facilitating this group twice per month for 13 years. She has provided supervision to pre-licensed clinicians in exposure therapy work, consultations to peers, and educational programs to psychiatry residents and other licensed therapists.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Full refund (minus $15 processing fee) will be given for cancellations prior to 2/14/26. For cancellations occurring 2/15/26 through 2/28/26, 50% refund will be issued. No refund will be given for cancellations occurring after 2/28/26. In the event of a Level II or III snow emergency, the program will be canceled and rescheduled with credit or full refund (minus $15 processing fee) issued. MATERIALS: Approximately one week prior to the presentation, you will receive an email with the slide handouts and other relevant materials for the program attached for your convenience.
