All presenters must attend in person. We cannot offer virtual-only or hybrid sessions (with one presenter in person and another online).

Please note that all presenters must be NRJE members in good standing, which includes up-to-date membership dues. Additionally, all presenters are required to register and pay for the conference to participate.

What type of session is your proposal for?*

Practitioner Research Session: Practitioners, often collaborating with researchers, present research designed to provide practical ideas and strategies for immediate use in educational settings, with time for discussion and feedback.Preformed Paper Session: People submit this proposal together and plan to present 3 separate papers and a discussant provides feedback.Roundtable (4-6 presenters who have submitted this form together): A preformed discussion panel on a shared topic of interest without original research. This format welcomes teachers and practitioners who have educational questions and topics but not formal data, and includes framing questions, short responses from presenters, open discussion between attendees and presenters. This is not the forum for presenting original data or research; it is a space to share and discuss ideas.Individual paper session: Single paper is submitted with this proposal and it will be slotted into other sessions by the program committee.Skills Session: A session led by a senior scholar where a specific skill is taught and junior scholars have the opportunity to ask questions. This could include something like “how to turn a dissertation into a book/article” or “how to secure a publishing contract”.Consultation (you need to consult with others about some element of your research): This format has traditionally been geared towards early career students and researchers but we also welcome more established scholars who just need a thought partner to take advantage of this session.

Practitioner Research Session: Provide an abstract describing the session (up to 500 words), including how the research will provide actionable ideas and strategies for practitioners. Highlight how the session is geared toward real-world application and describe any collaboration with researchers, if applicable.
Preformed paper sessions: Provide an abstract describing the session (up to 350 words), along with a description of each paper (up to 350 words for each paper).
Roundtable: Provide an abstract describing the roundtable (up to 500 words).
Skills session: Provide a description of the skill you are interested in teaching and/or discussing (up to 350 words).
Individual paper sessions: Provide an abstract describing your paper (up to 500 words).

We’re excited to support our graduate student attendees in their academic and professional growth.
