Fall 2026 Global Scholars Application
This application is for semester study abroad for Fall 2026. Please carefully read the requirements for each section. All materials must be submitted at once.

If you have not discussed your study abroad plans with your academic advisor, please setup an appointment to meet with them prior to submitting this application.

Before you start this application, please have the following materials ready to submit:
- Faculty Recommendation Request Form - Click here to submit. THIS FORM SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IMMEDIATELY.
- Official VWU transcript (the transcript must include your Fall 2025 grades) - Click here to order
- Fall 2025 class schedule - a screen print from WebAdvisor works great
- A color scan of the photo page of your passport
- A fully completed 4-year plan - Click here to download the approved template *If you are a BHC student, you are welcome to upload your BHC 4-year plan instead.
For those applying to an ISEP program, please tailor your responses toward your first choice program.

The deadline to submit ALL materials for ALL Fall 2026 programs (ISEP and Exchange) is 11:59 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026. No late applications will be accepted.

Please answer the following questions in 3-4 full paragraphs. Why you are interested in studying abroad; why you are interested in studying at this particular institution and in this country and city; how do you expect study abroad will affect you academically, professionally, and personally; and why you would be a good ambassador for Virginia Wesleyan.*
Terms and Conditions

I understand that if I am selected as a Global Scholar Study Abroad student that I will need to complete the following:
1. To consult with my academic advisor(s) regarding course selections prior to my departure;
2. To complete all forms in a timely manner and submit my application materials to my host provider by its stated deadline;
3. To attend all pre-departure meetings;
4. To attend the Academic Symposium presentations of the previous semester's students, if offered
5. To remain in high academic standing while studying abroad;
6. To enroll in courses on the Virginia Wesleyan University campus in the semester following my time abroad;
7. To deliver a public presentation (oral or poster) during the Academic Symposium following my time abroad;
8. To serve as an ambassador for Virginia Wesleyan University and the United States, upholding the highest standard of conduct.
Student Conduct

I understand that any academic or conduct violation at Virginia Wesleyan University before my study abroad experience could result in the termination of my ability to study abroad. I understand that should unforeseen circumstances ensue causing me to suspend my study abroad experience or if I do not complete the terms of this agreement, I may be obligated to reimburse Virginia Wesleyan University for costs paid on my behalf.

I understand that my student conduct and honor code records will be checked as a part this application and I give Global Engagement permission to consult with Virginia Wesleyan’s Offices of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs regarding any conduct and/or honor code violation that I committed.

I understand that my study abroad experience will be terminated if I do not remain in good academic standing as defined by VWU. It will also be terminated if I do not remain in good disciplinary standing as defined by the code of conduct and the rules and regulations governing the behavior of students at VWU. Lastly, it will be terminated if I am found guilty of a violation of any civil code.
