International Lightning Class Association
The mission of the International Lightning Class Hall of Fame is to highlight and celebrate the Lightning Sailboat and recognize the sailors, boat builders, sail makers and individuals or organizations who have been instrumental in supporting and strengthening the Lightning Class since 1938.
Nominations can be for an individual or a group of individuals (such as a fleet), a company, a Yacht Club or other entity.

Nominations may be submitted at any time. However, only those received prior to February 1st are combined with unselected nominations from each of the two prior years and considered for any given year.

There is no minimum or maximum quota for number of inductions to occur in a year. The four member Nomination & Selection Committee will present its recommendations to the International Lightning Class Executive Committee and representative of the Finger Lakes Boating Museum for final selection each year.

Other than current members of the Nomination & Selection Committee there are no restrictions on who may submit a nomination. Class membership is not required. Further there is no limit as to how many times an unselected nomination may be made.
