  • Pembroke College's Bay Area Alumni Ambassador, Jeremy Sutton (1979, Physics), is pleased to invite you to join him for a very convivial and stimulating event in Mountain View at the iconic and fascinating Computer History Museum (https://computerhistory.org). The visit involves a docent-led tour, plus lunch in the museum Cloud Bistro Café. 

    This event will take place on Saturday, 24th January 2026, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, starting at the Computer History Museum, 1401 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View, CA 94043. The Museum has plenty of free parking and is conveniently located at the 101 / Shoreline Boulevard exit in Mountain View (next to the Googleplex).

    Here is the detailed visit schedule to give you a good idea of what to expect:

    10:00am – 10:30am Meet in Cloud Bistro Café at the Computer History Museum. Attendees to this event get a 10% discount at the Café and the Museum Store (which is a great spot for unusual tech related holiday gifts!!)

    10:30 - 11:30am Docent-led tour of the core signature exhibit of the museum Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing (https://computerhistory.org/exhibits/revolution) The docent-led experience will focus on 6 to 12 artifacts and is designed to be a conversation between the docent and the group.

    11:45am - 12:45pm Self-guided interactive tour of the newest exhibit at the museum: Chatbots Decoded: Exploring AI  (https://computerhistory.org/exhibits/chatbots-decoded)

    1:00pm – 3:00pm Lunch (at own cost) at Cloud Bistro Café (https://computerhistory.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/2025-08-Cloud-Bistro-Menu.pdf). 

    3pm Carriages 

    Whether you are based in the Bay Area or simply visiting, we warmly encourage you to join us for this visit to such a special hidden gem in the centre of Silicon Valley. Enjoy conversation, camaraderie, and celebration of the Pembroke community while learning about the origins and future of the computing devices that are now so much part of the fabric of daily life and that so many take for granted. 

    The event is $24 ($18 for 65+). Lunch is at your own cost. Alumni are welcome to register with a guest. Please book by clicking on the registration link below.
