  • Affiliate Promotions:

    Mission: To effectively tell the Red Angus story using sound science and real-world beef production to advance the Red Angus Association of America as a trusted source of information and genetics for the beef industry.

    Alliance:

    Mission: To build and strengthen partnerships that expand opportunities for Red Angus genetics and members across the beef industry. The committee works to foster collaborative relationships with allied breed associations, industry organizations, academic institutions and commercial partners. Through strategic alliances, the committee seeks to enhance market access, promote breed value and advance the collective success of Red Angus producers and their stakeholders.

    Awards: 

    Mission: To recognize and honor individuals, breeders and industry partners who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership and service to the Red Angus breed and beef industry. The committee strives to uphold the values of integrity, excellence and community by ensuring a fair and transparent selection process that celebrates outstanding achievement and contributions that advance the mission and reputation of the Red Angus Association of America.

    Breed Improvement:

    Mission: Serves as the catalyst for developing and delivering tools designed to improve the genetics of Red Angus and Red Angus-influenced cattle. The committee relies upon the RAAA Strategic Plan, directives from the RAAA Board of Directors and interaction with RAAA stakeholders for guidance in determining the areas of emphasis and prioritization. Resulting recommendations are presented to the RAAA Board of Directors for final approval and guidance for implementation.

    Constitution and Bylaws:

    Mission: Oversee the development and maintenance of the Association’s Bylaws so they are clear, concise and effective in guiding the operation of the association; providing interpretation of its meaning when needed; and recognizing the need for amendment in order to keep the association current, relevant and responsive to positive change.

    Convention:

    Mission: To plan, organize, and execute a meaningful annual convention that celebrates the Red Angus breed, fosters fellowship among members, and advances the mission of the Association. Through thoughtful programming, engaging educational opportunities, and member-driven collaboration, the committee strives to create an event that strengthens relationships, highlights industry innovation and inspires continued growth within the Red Angus community.

    Finance:

    Mission: To ensure the financial integrity, stability, and sustainability of the Association. The committee provides fiscal oversight, strategic guidance and transparent stewardship of resources to support the Association’s mission and long-term success. By developing sound financial policies, monitoring budgets and promoting responsible management of assets, the committee works to safeguard member investments and advance the growth of the Red Angus breed and its stakeholders.

    Industry Affairs:

    Mission: To establish programs that clearly convey the inherent value of Red Angus-influenced genetics through the live animal and beef supply chain.

    Junior Advisory:

    Mission: To equip and prepare all JRA stakeholders to be leaders, innovators, stewards and advocates for the Red Angus breed, the beef industry and agriculture.

    Marketing:

    Mission: To identify and develop commercial cattle marketing programs. To complement this, it is also the goal of the marketing committee to develop and implement education programs for any current or newly proposed commercial marketing programs.

    Red Angus Stakeholders Foundation Board:

    Mission: To advance the Red Angus breed and strengthen its future by supporting youth leadership, scientific research, educational outreach and charitable initiatives that increase efficiency and sustainability in Red Angus ranching and allied agriculture.

    Rules and Regulations:

    Mission: To review, evaluate and advance the rules, regulations and policies that record, register and objectively describe Red Angus and Red Angus-influenced cattle. Guided by the Strategic Plan and Core Policies, the Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the Red Angus database, often collaborating with other committees.

    Show:

    Mission: Responsible for the development of rules and regulations assuring that the Red Angus breed is properly represented and displayed in a manner that promotes integrity and reflects the effective and progressive use of quality Red Angus genetics.

    Strategic Planning:

    Mission: To guide the long-term vision and direction of the Association. The committee works to identify emerging opportunities, address challenges and align organizational goals with the needs of members and the beef industry. Through collaboration, data-driven insight and forward-thinking leadership, the committee ensures that RAAA remains innovative, sustainable, and positioned for continued growth and relevance in advancing the Red Angus breed.

    Technical:

    Mission: To advance the scientific integrity and accuracy of genetic evaluation within the breed. The committee provides guidance and oversight on the development, validation, and continuous improvement of Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) and related genetic tools. Through collaboration with industry experts, researchers, and members, the committee ensures that RAAA remains a trusted leader in performance data, technology adoption and genetic progress for the benefit of commercial and seedstock producers alike.

  • What Is Asked Of You To Serve?

    • Attend regular scheduled committee meetings.
      • Typically occur on a quarterly basis. However, can be called on an as-needed basis.
    • Commit to attending all meetings.
    • Contribute by providing your thoughts, opinions, perspectives, and experiences.
    • Be open-minded and respectful of your committee peers.
    • Come with the goal to better the breed and the overall goal of RAAA versus a personal agenda.

    Other Information:

    • Your assigned committee may be asked to collaborate with other committees to evaluate scenarios and/or cases and come to an agreement for a recommendation.
    • Committees make recommendations to the board for review and approval. They are not given the authority to enter into contracts, sign, or make official policy.
  • Your submission will help us match member interests and expertise with available opportunities. However, expressed interest does not guarantee placement on a committee, but we will do our best to find a good fit for all interested members.
