The Anthony J. Messana Scholarship provides financial support for an RHA member to attend the Annual RHA Day on the Hill and meet with their elected officials to educate, inform, and share issues and concerns related to dialysis facilities and patients. The scholarship is designed for RHA members who are interested in advocacy related activities.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the nominee must:
- Be an RHA Member in good standing under the Active Member Category (Dialysis Company)
- Have an interest in learning more about advocacy and supporting the RHA's advocacy interests
- Be available to attend the 2026 Day on the Hill on May 19-20
The winner of this scholarship will:
- Attend the Annual Day on the Hill and related in-person events:
- Evening reception on May 19th
- Day on the Hill meetings on May 20th with various legislators, representatives, and staff
- Be open to receiving email or phone calls from RHA throughout the year as we work on specific issues that may relate to your organization
The scholarship award includes:
- Complimentary registration for the 2026 Day on the Hill
- Travel reimbursement for coach airfare and hotel/airport transportation
- Hotel room including tax for two nights at Melrose Georgetown Hotel, Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol
The RHA Board of Directors acknowledge Anthony J. Messana for his significant contribution to the organization. His involvement in the Association spanned decades and demonstrated an extraordinary personal commitment to the kidney care community.
The board established the RHA Anthony J. Messana Day on the Hill Scholarship recognizing his unending advocacy efforts on behalf of kidney patients and kidney care organizations.
