    Help Celebrate the
    City of Lowell's
    Bicentenial in
    2026

The City of Lowell Bicentennial Business Partnership Invitation
  • Lowell will celebrate its 200th anniversary of incorporation as a Town on March 1, 2026. To mark this significant milestone, the City of Lowell is planning a variety of Bicentennial Celebrations throughout the year, which we are encouraging residents and business owners to participate in!

The festivities begin with Lowell Winterfest on February 28, 2026, followed by a series of events—both large and small—running through October 2026. Downtown businesses have been invited to collaborate with the City by hosting public events from March through October, offering a range of experiences presented by the different local establishments.

  • Is there an event you've been thinking about hosting for your business?

Or do you already have an existing event you’d like to build off of?  The City of Lowell can help with the cost and marketing!

We’re seeking businesses interested in hosting events between March and October 2026 (a shorter timeframe may also be possible depending on the type of event). Each participating business will select a consistent date each month — for example, the second Friday or third Saturday — to hold their event.

Not ready to commit to a recurring event? One-time events are welcome too!

Don’t have an event idea? You can still get involved by offering a Bicentennial-inspired product or service that we’ll help promote — think Bicentennial Bread, Bicentennial Brew, Bicentennial Burger, Bicentennial Bracelet, or any other creative idea that ties into your business and Lowell’s 200th celebration.

    Event Details

Your event can be anything that fits your business and your customers’ interests—it does not need to be historical or Bicentennial-themed. If you would like some help coming up with events there are some ideas listed below - however, if you have an idea that isn't listed here - great! We encourage creativity and variety!

    City Support

The City of Lowell will help offset event costs from March through October 2026, as well as including your business' events in our advertising and marketing campaigns.  Our goal is to support your business in creating a successful event series that can continue into 2027 and beyond—without the need of financial assistance—as a lasting part of Lowell’s community life.

    Next Steps

If your business would like to participate, please complete the application below and BE SURE TO UPLOAD A COMPLETED AND SIGNED W-9 FORM before submitting.

Someone from our team will reach out soon to discuss details.

Please note, if you do not include the completed and signed W-9 Form your application cannot be considered for funding.

We look forward to celebrating Lowell’s 200th anniversary with you and showcasing the amazing businesses that make our city thrive!
