  • Tafa Jefferson, Chapter Chair, has been asked to assist with the renewal/application process for all the ABHC Chapters for 2026.

    The ABHC has enhanced its membership application process for 2026 membership to ensure all its members are following, and adhere to ABHC’s policies and standards. Our 2026 membership enrollment period is from the date you receive this application through February 15, 2026. We ask that you make every effort to complete and submit the Application Packet by February 15th. We plan to publish the first ABHC OC Membership Roster of Certified Employers for 2026 in February of 2026. All who submit their completed Application Packets and dues check on or before February 15, 2026, and are accepted as members, will be included in this 1st Membership Roster of 2026.

    Membership dues for 2026 are $600 for the calendar year, plus a $150 application fee. The ABHC is now accepting credit card, Apple Pay and PayPal payments for membership dues (you will receive a link to your membership dues payment invoice upon approval of your application).

    The ABHC bylaws provide that 50% of the annual dues shall be credited at the end of the calendar year for the next calendar year dues to each member who (a) completes a term of service during the calendar year as a voting or non-voting member of the Executive Committee or a local chapter board; or, (b) participates on the Membership, Education or other duly constituted committee, and attends at least 75% of that committee’s meetings held during that calendar year. Only current ABHC members in good standing are authorized to use ABHC’s logo and/or other ABHC brand identity in promotional and marketing materials and on their website. For the integrity of our membership base, any company that is not a member in good standing with the ABHC is not allowed to represent their company as a member of the ABHC and are required to remove all ABHC logos and any ABHC brand identity on their website all collateral Agency materials. The ABHC has established a committee that will regularly review all the Orange County in home care providers to ensure correct and accurate representation of ABHC membership.

    Please complete and sign these forms in the membership packet which include:

    - The 2026 ABHC Orange County Application for Membership.
    - The American Board of Home Care Code of Conduct Agreement, and
    - Authorization to Verify and Release Insurance Information form.

    Also, please include a copy of your Agency’s Endorsement from your business insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance.

  • Members of the American Board of Home Care understand minimum standards are important to the future success of businesses that provide senior services. All ABHC members are committed to honor and integrity in their business practice. Each member of the American Board of Home Care agrees to observe and maintain the following standards of conduct in dealing with the Senior community and their families.

    As an ABHC member, our Company’s management and employees agree to:


    1. Treat all clients, their families, and friends with respect and dignity.

    2. Conduct our business dealings with integrity and honesty.

    3. Protect all people's right to privacy and confidentiality as required by law.

    4. Provide all appropriate in-home care options to clients so they can make educated decisions.

    5. Make a good faith effort to refer to ABHC members or only employer model home
    care companies to protect the public.

    6. Report any incidents of suspected elder abuse to Adult Protective Services.

    7. Make a good-faith effort to resolve matters amicably between other ABHC members.

    8. Refrain from making disparaging remarks about other home care agencies, their
    employees, or operation.

  • A customer/client you currently have bound Workers Compensation Insurance
    Coverage for has applied for membership in our trade Association, The American
    Board of Home Care Inc. A pre-condition of membership is to provide proof of
    Workers’ Compensation coverage for Federal workers’ compensation class code
    #8827 Homemaker services - all employees.

    This document is a formal authorization/request to verify with ABHC all Class Codes
    of the Workers Compensation insurance coverage currently provided for:

    I acknowledge that knowingly submitting false information is a basis for exclusion from membership and agree that Agency will indemnify ABHC for any harm caused by Agency's submission of false information.

    I authorize ABHC to share information with prospective referral sources and clients concerning Agency's membership in ABHC.

    I acknowledge and agree that there is no guarantee of acceptance into ABHC, and that Agency's dues will promptly be returned should this application not be accepted.

    I acknowledge that inclusion on ABHC's list does not constitute an endorsement of Agency or its services.

    I acknowledge that reapplication is required on an annual basis and that failure to meet the terms of this agreement at any time may result in Agency's membership being denied, suspended and/or revoked.

    I acknowledge and agree that ABHC reserves the right to notify the community if my membership lapses or is terminated with cause. I will indemnify ABHC for any harm or financial loss should Agency's membership be denied, suspended and/or revoked; including, but not limited to, losses from revocation of the license to use ABHC's logo and brand identity in promotional and marketing materials.
