  • Term 1 Practical Registrations

    9 February - 3 April 2026

  • Distance Delivery students starting after Term 1, 2025 are welcome to attend one Practical or one Makers' Week session each term. 

    In addition to this, all Distance students are welcome to come onsite on Tuesdays (weeks 2-9) to attend Creativity Kaiako events. 

  • About Practicals

    Toi Kaiako (tutors) will lead Practicals on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Class runs from 10am-3pm, with an hour for lunch. The studio will stay open until 4:30pm. You can find information about each class here. 

    There are no Practicals on Tuesdays because we run Creativity Workshops on this day. You don't need to sign up for these - just turn up in person, or online (see school calendar on ORA for the link).

    There are a limited number of places available in each Practical, so if a class is full you won't be able to choose it. However, you can attend a Practical if there is space in the studio on the actual day of the class.

  • Materials Passes - IMPORTANT

    Some Practicals require you to buy a Materials Pass to cover additional materials supplied by TLC for use in the studio. These are typically classes that use specialist studios, such as Print, Ceramics and Jewellery

    If a Practical has a materials pass, you can see the price next to the class name in the registration list below. You'll need to buy a new materials pass each term for these Practicals.

    We'll come to the studio with our mobile eftpos, or you can buy your materials pass at the TLC shop.

    If you're not in a position to buy a materials pass for your chosen class, please contact Programme Support for advice. We will always ensure there are a range of classes that don't require any extra purchases (aside from your own art supplies)

  • About Practicals

    Practicals run 10:00am - 3:00pm (with a one hour lunch break) in weeks 2-9 each term (total 8 weeks). Your Toi Kaiako (Tutor) will guide you as you explore the practical & technical skills used in this discipline.

    The studio is open for you to continue working on your projects until 4:30pm.

    Casual students over 16 are welcome to attend Practicals if space is available. The cost is $660 for 8 sessions per term (no charge for public holidays). Some Practicals have an additional cost for materials supplied by the tutor (if so, the price is shown in the class name below). You may also need to purchase your own materials.
