Adopting a dog through Top of the Hill Dog Rescue Requies Commitment!
Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned or surrendered for preventable reasons such as a lack of training, poor management, or owners who weren’t prepared for the responsibility. Our dogs have been saved from death row, neglect, or abandonment. They’ve already lost everything atleast once. They deserve stability, structure, and someone who won’t give up when things get hard.
At Top of the Hill Dog Rescue, we invest everything into saving, training, and preparing our dogs for success. We will always take our dogs back if needed but our goal is for you to keep your dog for its life.
Before proceeding, please understand that adopting from us comes with serious responsibilities and non-negotiable requirements. Here, we are flexible with your housing situation, but firm on your responsbility to your dog
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
- You must commit to continuing training with the guidance and support of a professional trainer or behaviorist. Every dog will need a different level of training.
- You must maintain active medical insurance for your adopted dog. We want to ensure that you and your dog are prepared for emergencies.
- You must responsibly manage your dog at all times , so providing structure, supervision, and safety.
- You must be prepared for a lifetime commitment
OUT-OF-STATE ADOPTIONS & TRANSPORT
We do allow out-of-state adoptions. Transport is available through our approved partners.
All transport costs are the responsibility of the adopter and depend on location and delivery method.
By continuing, you acknowledge that you have read and understand our requirements and that you are serious about providing lifelong commitment, training, management, and medical care for your dog.
OUR COMMITMENT
At Top of the Hill Dog Rescue, most of our dogs come from death row or tough situations. We put in the time, training, and care to give them a real second chance.
Many complete 30 or 45 day board and train programs with structured enrichment and obedience work.
All are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, started , and ready to join your home.
