Program Overview:

The Strong Start Campaign Institute is designed to equip aspiring public leaders with the skills, strategy, and support needed to run successful, values-driven campaigns. Participants will gain hands-on training in campaign planning, communications, fundraising, field organizing, and education policy — all grounded in a commitment to educational excellence, equitable access, and strong public school choice. The program prepares candidates to champion policies that expand opportunity, promote fairness, and strengthen every public school across the District.

Please note: The Campaign Institute is open only to individuals who have not yet filed as candidates for public office.

Application Open: July 27, 2026
Application Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
Program Dates: September 10 – October 22, 2026
Format: Hybrid sessions

Cohort Size: 10–15 participants
Eligibility: Residents of Washington, DC with an interest in running for public office in the next 1-2 election cycles.
