Basketball will be on Saturdays beginning January 3rd-February 14th. Each parent/guardian is responsible for bring a check for volunteer dues to the first practice ($50). If we do not receive this the child cannot participate until it is received. Kindergarten - 11am. 1st grade - 10am, 2nd grade - 9am. Each team practices for approximately 45 mins. Parents are to drop their child off and come back for pickup, unless you are coaching/helping.

Starting in the fall of 2024, the MYO Board of Directors has decided to make volunteering mandatory for each family participating in MYO sports. All families will be required to provide a $50 deposit check at the beginning of each season. Families who choose to opt-out of volunteering the required 5 hours each season will have their checks cashed. **Volunteer duties will include signing up and coaching practice each week and/or working the MYO Basketball tournament on 1/24/26 & 1/25/26 to meet the 5 hours. If you sign up to coach a practice and do not show up, the practice will be canceled that week or another parent will have step up. All practices will be PARENT run. You do not have to know a lot about basketball at this level to help teach a child to dribble and pass. If you meet your 5 hours of volunteer time we will NOT cash your $50 check. ***The City of Mobridge’s Event Coordinator will maintain a spreadsheet of volunteer activities for parents/guardians of MYO athletes. There will be signups for volunteering posted on the MYO Facebook page. Keep watch for those and keep track of your hours to submit at the end of the season. Once your family has volunteered for their 5 required hours, MYO will destroy your $50 check. If your family does not volunteer for their 5 required hours, MYO will cash your $50 check to help defray the costs of paid help.
