    Assignments with Nurture Healthcare will involve close contact with members of the public. This means that we require all applicants to undergo a criminal background check and your engagement is exempt from the relevant provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and its supporting regulations.

    Consequently, you are not entitled to withhold information about criminal background outside of the current filtering rules (available at www.gov.uk/dbs).

    A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with Nurture Healthcare but a review of criminal background will take place prior to your engagement with the agency. All information disclosed as part of criminal record checks completed will be discussed with schools prior to any assignments.

    Nurture Healthcare operate in accordance with the DBS code of practice and our internal Rehabilitation of Ex-Offenders policy (both are available on request).

  • Pension Scheme - Smart Pensions

    All employers now have to put employees into a pension scheme if they earn over £10,000 per year, are aged 22 or over and are under state pension age. This is the law, because the government wants to get more people to have another income in addition to the state pension when they retire.

    You will pay in 5% of your earnings each pay period. This will be taken directly from your pay and may include tax relief from the government. We will also pay in 3% of your earnings each pay period. Therefore, the total amount put into your pension pot will be 8% of your earnings.

    If you don’t want to join the scheme, you need to ask to leave it. You can choose to leave the scheme within a month of the date you were put on it. you will receive a welcome email with all the details from Smart Pensions and you have to do it through them.
