“The program met me at a time when I was filled with grief and struggling with a sense of self in a world on fire. Throughout the process, I was able to discover beauty and meaning without pretending that the crisis doesn’t exist. Accepting the severity of the predicament may be one of the most difficult and powerful things I’ve ever done."

About the Program
As bell hooks noted, “Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” We must come together.
Created by LaUra Schmidt and Aimee Lewis Reau, Good Grief Network's 10-Step program is a peer-to-peer support group where we can start attending to our collective wounding and traumas created by surviving in unjust systems.
In the program, we connect 1.5 to 2 hours each week over 10 weeks. During that time we learn to attune to one another to process our heavy and painful feelings about the state of the world, build community connections, and (re-)discover meaning and joy. Each group is facilitated by GGN-trained and certified FLOW Facilitators.
This is NOT a therapy program. We are not here to fix each other or be fixed. We practice deep listening and sharing in these spaces; not discussion.
We prioritize an intimate group experience, capping each group at 15 participants, including the facilitation team.
In this space, our facilitators will create a brave, emergent container where each participant can explore what it means to stay awake, aware, and engaged during times of great disruption, chaos, and uncertainty. We will do the deep work of facing and processing our feelings with others, so that we can care for ourselves and our communities.
Good Grief Network does not offer advice. We are not here to fix each other but to slow down, listen deeply, create connections, build trust, and reimagine the world. We create transformative spaces using group consciousness, grounding exercises, personal sharing, and poetry.
