The purpose of the Emergency Department Clinical Quality Registry Steering Group (EDCQRSG) is to provide advice and direction on the design, development and implementation of an emergency department clinical quality registry for quality improvement and research related activities, with a view to improving patient care, patient outcomes and health equity through the responsible collection and use of data.
The Committee are seeking community members to provide a consumer perspective and First Nations perspectives to the deliberations of the EDCQRSG, as an individual representing prospective users of emergency medicine care in Australia and New Zealand. Specifically, the EDCQRSG are looking for people with the following attributes:
1. Broad expertise/experience in governance processes
2. Lived experience with navigating health systems as a consumer (desirable)
3. Can convey a broad consumer and community perspective, not just own beliefs, and display experience as a consumer and community advocate in other roles
4. Display an interest/experience in quality and service improvement and health data sovereignty
The community members will work closely with the Chair and Deputy Chair and other members of the EDCQRSG, as well as staff and will make balanced decisions that are in the best interest of the patient, the community, the College, its members and trainees. The EDCQRSG meets three times per year online, with some out-of-session email correspondence as needed. You will be remunerated for your meeting attendance. An expectation that a commitment over the remainder of the term, ending Nov 2026 is appreciated.
