The purpose of this survey is for community members, students, and staff to submit suggestions for a new mascot at Morris Community High School.
The Board of Education will consider only those suggestions that meet the following criteria:
- They must be names that have the potential to unite our community rather than promote division;
- They cannot be names that have the potential to be racist, degrading, or offensive;
- They must be suggestions that celebrate all activities, both academic and athletic.
- The former mascot is not an option.
Any suggestions that do not meet these criteria will be discarded. The Board of Education will then review all appropriate submissions and narrow them down to a shorter list. Students, faculty, and staff will then narrow that list even further. The community, faculty, staff, and students will then vote on the finalists. The Board of Education will then have the final approval of the mascot.
