Dear New Mexican Elected Leadership:
As a citizen who loves this state, I am embarrassed and completely dissatisfied with our high national rankings in crime and drug abuse.
We elected you to do a better job than to allow our state to be consistently ranked among the worst states in America for adult and teenage drug use.
It is also deplorable that Wallet Hub, a national personal finance company, had to state that“New Mexico is the worst state in the nation for raising a family” because of our high crime rates in several categories.
This proves that whatever we’ve been doing, regardless of how hard we have worked, and however great our intentions have been, it simply hasn’t been productive enough to raise our National Ranking.
It is time to stop repeating the old methods that have failed us and start examining the processes used by higher-ranked states to achieve significantly better results.
We need more and better programs to ensure that our youth have more programs to help them avoid drugs and crime, and that we have more prosecutors to more efficiently close criminal cases.
We will not give up or be satisfied until our elected leaders do the work required to: Make New Mexico Better
