Dear New Mexican Elected Leadership:
As a citizen who loves this state, I am embarrassed and completely dissatisfied with our poor national rankings in Education, Crime, and Drug Abuse.
We elected you to do a better job than to allow our state to be consistently ranked among the worst states in America in these categories.
It is also deplorable that several national reports and publications have ranked New Mexico as: "The worst state to move to in America."
This proves that whatever we've been doing, regardless of how hard we have worked, and however great our intentions have been, it simply hasn't been productive enough to raise our national ranking.
It is time to stop repeating the old methods that have failed us and start examining the processes used by higher-ranked states to achieve significantly better results.
We need more and better programs to ensure that our youth have better programs to help them improve their education and to help them avoid drugs and crime, and to see that we have more prosecutors to more efficiently close criminal cases.
We will not give up or be satisfied until our elected leaders do the work required to: Make New Mexico Better.
